this subject is just like religion, no one will see eye to eye. and it's not really worth arguing about. the system is flawed, plain and simple.

now thats an opinion. I dont think the system is perfect. I dont think youll ever find a system that everybody agrees with. I also dont think a direct popular vote would fix it, do you? Weve only had 1 election in 120 years go against the popular vote.

no i don't think it would fix it either. why did bush win over gore. i thought the popular vote was for gore. thats when we all starting thinking our votes don't count. i beleive Bush had something to do about it. like he paid his way in or something. and then he was our worst president ever

When you cast your presidential vote its not directly for the candidate, its for the electoral votes your state will pledge to the winning candidate from that state. So if you think your vote doesnt count its becuase you dont understand the system. As for bush being the worst president ever look what al gore has done since he lost the election. Would he really have been a better president? If he had been president on 9/11 we would all be speaking farsi now. If you look at presidential approval ratings for bush they are very similar to trumans . Bush had 90 at the beginning and 25 near the end with truman 87 at the beginning and 22 near the end. As time passed we now look back at truman as one of the best presidents, its very possible that we will view bush as that in 50 years.

maybe. he did handle 911 well. i'll have to agree on that. but to keep us in a war for so long, i didn't agree on. what bothers me about them is they worry about taking care of other countries while ours goes down hill. i see homeless people on my interstate ramp all the time and i say to myself. this shouldn't be happening in America. they spend billions on other countries while people in our country are starving and living in cardboard boxes.

we had an isolationist policy before ww2 and did nothing when hitler invaded poland. All of our efforts overseas have been to rectify that type of mistake. We have seen that the US and the world for that matter cant afford for a ditator to be allowed to run free. While it might cost the US in the short term i think its better in the long term.

i agree but they need to take care of our country too. There should be no homeless people or hunger issues in America.
