This I a response that I hope will be viewed or somehow get the attention of Paramount. Why do they not do anything Star Trek in Texas? It is the second largest state, so there must be a lot of fans. So why can't you do at least one tour in Texas?

Yes i didn't know about that, it looks cool but perhaps i should "rephrase that," and say that live between Houston TX and Corpus Christi TX so i really don't go near the Dallas area a hole lot.

I know what J Kirk In Texas means. There's very few fan based conventions in Texas these days. I heard that about twenty or twenty five years ago that both Dallas and Houston had three to four really good conventions each year.

I heard that someone quite wealthy hosted (paid for) some really awesome conventions back in the 80's and 90's. I wonder why he quite having conventions....Houston also had a lot of conventions during that era. I'm not sure if the same person put those on or not....

There are a couple scattered around, though they aren't exclusively Star Trek. There's Sci-Fi Expo coming up at the end of the month (Nichelle Nichols will be there), and Dallas ComiCon in May (Leonard Nimoy will be a guest), and there's always Fan Days. AllCon is another Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Comics all-encompassing sort of Con.
Texas Comic Con in San Antonio seems to have a couple of Trek stars lined up for this year, and Mirina Sirtis will be at ComicPalooza in Houston this year. That's as far as I know for this year, but I'm sure there are others that I've missed. Most of the Cons in Texas are mixed sci-fi/etc cons, I don't know of any that are strictly Trek. Still, it's better than nothing! And there's always Vegas to shoot for.

~I started it tomorrow, I will finish yesterday.~

Yeah that looks cool, there are ones all around the state (and that is awesome!) Although I haven’t heard of anything in Las Vegas since the closing of the star trek at the Hilton.

>i don't know who it was but i do remember Houston back during that time and there were a lot of conventions and at least one Trek one a year.

>why did they stop? well i also remember that they always had rodeos, football, baseball games, conventions and like atu-showsw at the Astrodome all the time; it was a money making machine. this probably kept the costs down allowing the trek conventions to turn a good profit, plus a big city etc., so everyone happy.

>then the dome got old, people had had enough of it, football team went away, astros started to suck, yadda yadda yadda, costs went up just enough to drive the All-Trek conventions away. then to justify the building of not only a new arena but also a convention center they had to spike profits near the end and thaat drove off all the rest of the little guys.that is why i think not a lot of conventions in Texas big cities now; but it is growing again, Austin had a Comic-Con just a few months ago and some other thing a couple of my friends are going to in a few weeks. so give it time.

>
Yeah i will try to just hang in and wait for something good (I.E. Star Trek .)

I personally think that there should be more planning and conventions in more place's not just the US. I realise that it would take some extensive planning, but it can be achieved and it will establish a growing fanbase and longevity for the long haul.

It's strange, being a catalyst for things that move outside.

I tell ya, Houston has been dead as far as Star Trek Conventions. I haven't been to one in Houston since the 90s. Creation Con use to put them on but everything has disappeared now. It was hard for me to make it to Plano with work/family commitments. I can't imagine why there are no more Trek conventions in Houston?! Houston does host Comicpalooza every year. Marina Siritis is scheduled to be a guest this year again. So here is the link:

No problem, yeah so far it's just Marina Sirtis. I tried emailing Creation Con entertainment and asked if they will ever come to Houston again. If I hear something, I will share it. In the mean time here is their link for events...and yes Houston missed the mark again. http://www.creationent.com/calendar.htm
