William Shatner revolutiionized tv history with his appearance as Captain James T.Kirk. He demonstated great intellect and higher level communication by far more gifted than other actors and intellects of his time.
Yes we have all got human failings and Shatner had a few but his heroism and leadership skills are still unsurpassed. He has made Star Trek the epic series and films they are today. I believe that the leadership skills taught in the original Star Trek series can not be replicated and are worth academic study in themselves. Shatner's Kirk was a compassionate but sturdy man who took responsibility for his ship and his crew as his prime directive.
Taking a look at how the world is shaping up right now they can take a leaf from Gene Roddenberry's vision of Star Trek and make a difference.

are you sure that you are not getting the actor confused with the character that he played? I will admit that he is a legend, but he is definatly, IMO, not a hero.

The character of James T surely revolutionised tv, but so did "Spock," because he was a culture foreign to many if any at the time and even today and yet there is this "fascination?" Archer didn't have a 'prime directive' so he was acting on his intuition and "James T" was similar, just a bit more familiar; he had insight from 'Spock' to thank for that. I grew up with those guys.
It's strange, being a catalyst for things that move outside.

All the actors in trek gave us a glimpse,and at times far more,into the kind of people we should aspire to be,no matter what we do with our lives.They have all done a wonderful job and we are all forever in their debt,as well as Gene's for creating a vision of the future we can all be proud of.It is our job to make life better for the next generation and trek is an excellent example to take lessons from,as I'm sure was Gene's intention.A captain is nothing without his or her crew.If you're going to praise them,praise them all.Like us,without each other,they accomplish little,but together,they can accomplish all.

Will actor and perosnal play effect may in some way might help a person chance us better or worst. So has William Shatner by hero it depends on how effect other people act for. Actor form jokes more once did help me a little to say the least. I would like meet it was ever possible that again dream not likley happen. |

If world only so simple if Caption Kirk had major effect way you behave handle problem for better yes Shatner could be your hero. Fact is that not even born when Star Terk TOS on the air. As for the movies look up people Enterpise show more Shatner.
