Thank you so much for this info KAHLESS THE UNFORGETTABLE! I really appreciate it. So should I just pay for the photo and autograph tickets, which are a separate by my understanding, and just go with a general admission for August 13...? I'll look into the other events and see if things strike my linking. Thanks again!

From my experience the photo-op was a waste of time and money. Shatner and Nimoy just sat in chairs while attendees were shuffled in behind them, one at a time. The photo basically looks like i'd snuck up behind them while they were having diner or something. Incredibly lame. It's actually so bad that friends think i Photoshopped it... i kid you not.
I'm sure the experience is different depending on who you're with though. You may end up with a great memento. That is, if you consider an eighty dollar digital photo a great memento. (Do they even offer an actual print anymore?)
As far as autographs, unless you can get something personalized... i don't see the point.

I went to Las Vegas in 2006 had the preferred package Gold and Captain were to much $$ for me.
I bought tickets ala carte for the partys and photo ops
Both Shatner and Nimoy were very nice
The experience is quick but you get a hello, a handshake and the flash explodes, the picture has been taken and you are moving out of the way of the crewperson behind you.
I went to the Klingon Lunch which was great. I say this because I got the E-mail today telling me there will be a Klingon Lunch this year at the 45th on Sat.
If things were better I would love to attend again but I don't have the $$ this year.

Thanks so much 36_24_36 and Yanks. : ) I feel at this time a hug/ pic from Leonard Nimoy... is priceless. So I am willing to wait and pay. I will have to look at the prices again.. but it seemed to me that Gold was a bit out of my reach. But I am still saving. My camera has a decent zoom.. but to what are you referring to taking picture of? I'm so embarrassingly new at this!

I'm planning to go to the star trek/vegas this year. It'll be my first convention. I admit, I'm not a hardcore fan, but I'm willing to dress the part and come as Sulu. I think it will be fun to try something new. I was wondering if someone could explain that if you don't buy the over $100 ticket events hosted by Creation. Can you still show up and participate? What is available and for what prices? Thanks for any info.

Yes even with the general admission ticket you can be part of costume contest, go into vendor area, go into the main theater (you just won;t have a assigned seat,in back) you can go into the secondary theater also. You don't get a ssigned seat, autographs & photo ops (You have to buy seperately). I used to buy top tickets. For the cost now i buy the general admission and have more money for what i want.
