In a potential story pitched by Mike Sussman, Daniels would have come aboard Enterprise and brought Chef, played by William Shatner, into the future, making sure history took the correct course by having him pose as James T. Kirk during a significant event

So THAT is the Shatner proposed intro..hmmm...I dunno. Well, in any case, I'd have been thrilled to see Bill doing that. Come on..regardless of premise..you can't throw tomatoes, even if some out there were inclined, at a story that gets Shatner in the role..somehow. I do wonder if him playing an ancestor might have gone over better. Dunno, have to think more about this one....
