Thinking about coming up for this on the Saturday of the event.  I have to be in Chicago for another gathering of a social nature that evening.  When does the event open in the morning, does anyone know?  I want to be sure I'll have a decent amount of time before I commit to tickets.

My dad and I will be attending Friday and Saturday. I'm SO dressing up for the costume contest. If you happen to see Data wandering around in his TNG uniform and a phaser at his side. . . that will most likely be me. =P We already live in Chicago so it is such a blessing! I never thought I would actually be able to attend a convention--- heavens know I've always wanted to!

And I'll be getting Leonard Nimoy's autograph... wow... can hardly believe it. I'm going to have him sign a drawing of mine; can hardly wait!

Just had to make a random post. . . SO HAPPY I won first place in the costume contest! I was surprised that I was the only Data, and even more surprised that I actually beat 6 Klingons and Geordi LaForge himself... awesome, awesome day. I'm just curious how many members here attended. Tadasimha, were you there? I saw a Vulcan in a baseball uniform and I couldn't help but wonder?.....

Me teaching a noisy Klingon some manners (bothering Uhura from the mirror universe on stage, indeed!) *wink* For those who didn't attend... you totally missed out.

Sounds like you had a blast! I did a costume contest at one of the Denver cons. Didn't win but made so many new friends and there were some awesome costumes!  Even the one guy that was a Vulcan wanderer, he had a gong and a rain stick. He was fun to watch, too.

Win or not, costume contests are way fun

*Edited to add*  I loved the sheet of rules for the costume contest I did.  One rule was this: "Band-aids do not constitute a costume.  Costumes need to be bigger than a band-aid"

So small compaired to the Vegas con. If I was local, then sure, but too much $$$ to travel, lodging etc for such a small list.
You get more Trek for your money in Las Vegas.

See, it was a blessing for me because I live in Chicago, so it only took us about 45 minutes to drive over. My folks don't have the cash to spend to be traveling to Vegas and staying in a hotel, so this was a real chance for me to get some convention experience.

Good that you all fun! I was going to go to the Chicago con, but the finances didn't agree.
It is differant than the Vegas con, but are just as fun. I have noticed that most of the upcoming weekend cons are mosty the same guests as this con had. I like to see differsnt stars each time, but for some reason most of the weekend cons are the same.

Lets hear some stories and see some more pics!!!

Great Convention! It was Great to meet everyone, especially the great Christopher Lloyd. Also it was Great to see J.G. Hertzler and Robert O’Reilly again. Love them in their uniforms, Especially at breakfast! Them on stage was also great. Between the skits, the jokes, the singing, and the questions, Martok and Gowron made it the convention it was. Hope to see them again at the next one... along with some more Klingons! Qapla'

Roboto! It is I, Mirror!Mirror! You fought beautifully with the Klingons! I am honored to have battled at your side, you would make a fine addition to the Empire! I'm very glad you entered the contest, you deserved to win on many levels. A) attention to detail, B) perfect characterization, and c) you just kick ass!!

Hope to see you at another convention! I'm sad to see you didn't get your drawing signed. If you would, I would love to see it! I draw as well, and enjoy seeing others' work.  PM me sometime! Are you on TrekSpace?

Did anyone see the Killers "Human video that showed after the costume contest? I distinctly remember a part where Spock does the "Tell mother, I feel fine" and then it cuts to Amanda dying in the new movie. It was so well done and powerful, I've been searching for it ever since the convention!! If anyone has a file of it, please please let this out into the nets, it deserves to be watched!

Mirror!Mirror!-- your generous compliments shall go to my head if I do not fight against it... thank you you very much! I had an absolutely wonderful time and I do hope I will have the opportunity to attend the next convention, whenever it may be. I would love it if I ran into you!

It is a shame about the drawing... but hopefully I will have another chance to meet Leonard Nimoy (as long as he stays healthy and doesn't have another surgery on the very day I would've met him!). I uploaded it to the "Artful Expressions" section in the Star Trek "Galleries" for the sake of sharing. No, I am not on TrekSpace but I believe I passed it by just yesterday while I was searching for an image... hmm. Maybe I ought to check it out, eh?

I have a few pictures, but they aren't that great. Maybe I'll put them up.
