Hi

Just a thought, wouldnt it be possible and profitable for Paramount, to reboot the old original series ? with the new Star Trek actors from Star Trek 2009.

What we need is history for future series; Star Trek The U.F.P. would be the next way to go.
Reviving the new series with the new actors would be the same after a while.

There are about 75 years of war between the Federation and the Klingon Empire after the Enterprise series and before T.O.S..
Filling in some of that gap would ensure the proper creation of future series.

I wanna change my User name.

Not likely, seeing how the new Star Trek actors did not take so well in the reviews.

Its more about price than reviews IMO, after their 3 picture deal ends they will be considered box office gold (assuming the next 2 movies do as well or better) and have movies lined up that will pay more than tv could afford.

If there was a new Trek show it would be pretty hard to think of a story. Would the writers want to keep to old time line or the new time line? I would like to see a new show.

A longer number idea have for CBS new show going to make another Star Terk show they have be done in Starfleet Academy 200 years after USS Voyager return home. It should be about cadets learning about UFP history in Holodecks from watch the holograms act UFP history form the Romulan and Earth wars to what happen a decade for enter Starfleet Academy.

I think that, as a concept in itself, Jason222, you make an interesting point. I have said before elsewhere, that a series-future should or could have an overarcing Starfleet focus, but span the centuries, telling different stories each week, set up via a holodeck study program intro as you say here. Would it fly as a series, no, because let's face it, TOS is the hot ticket, and recognizable st venue for the non-fan tv audience, and exposed to the last film.

Again my post did not go through, this is MADNESS! It would be nice to see the new series come back to planet earth and call it, Star Trek EARTH".

That might be a little bit too much like "Caprica," though.

I think an Earth-based idea is INTERESTING...but Star Trek ultimately belongs out on the frontier of space.

Agreed, exploration and the unknown is one of trek's staples. Without it, fans won't accept it. Vger, I expected you to say something along the lines of, "no! No more series. They will just be trying to recapture the magic of TOS!"

I have an idea for a show. It would be set in the 25th century & follow the timeline of the tv series. The United Federation of Planets has been defeated by a The Coalison (A combined force of The Klingon Empire, Romulans & a new race called the Djrini). Earth, Vulcan, Bajor & many other Federation planets are now under occupation. The series would focus on the Federations response as they regroup to bring many wolrd back together to restore the United Federation of Planets. It would be set abord a new Enterprise (no ship has carried the name for over 25 years) but the ship would also return home to the Federations new base of operations so we would see the crew in their new home life & deal with the effects of the war. The Enterprise would have no families on board, no fancy quarters just crew quarters like on Star Trek: Enterprise, no holodeck, no 10 forward just a mess hall. It would have a cloaking device. Even though they are at war it would also be character driven. This is what the crew would be:

Captain Thomas Ryan - Human - Son of a respected Admiral

Comander Zarah Akelia - Trill - 1st Officer/Science - 6th host of Akelia - Childhood friend of Thomas

Commander Sian O'Malley - Human - Chief Engineer - Her husband is a prisoner of war

Lt Tayia Cerys - Bajorian - Helm - Single mother

Ensign Rahid Samiee - Human - Communications - Parents disapprove of him joining Starfleet

Ensign Joesph Ross - Human - Engineering - Fresh from academy, trying to find his way

Major Jaylic - Djrini - Tactical/Security - Joins the crew as he is against his people joining the Coalison

Dr Jermaine Okachi - Human - Chief Medical - Former starfleet officer now a civilain doctor

Some may say it's not very Star Trek but it is different & I think it would work.

We have not lost the Enterprise Mr Worf. We are not going to lose the Enterprise. Not to the Borg, not while I'm in command - Picard, Star Trek: First Contact

I hope they do it,i was just thinking that this very morning, how about a proper remake of the original series, only updated in style and continuity to the latest film and hints of Enterprise  maybe and for the 45th aniversary tvm have all the Enterprises togeather, though focusing on a new, new Enterprise NCC-1701 thats a hybred of the original and the 2009 film version and the Enterprise A & E (No no a hospial ship) with the surviving original and  Nex Gen crews making a guest appearances as well as, as many DS9 and VOY characters.

I have thought about an 'anthology' type of series for several years. It would consist of 4 separate shows, each broadcast every 4 weeks. One show would be set on a starship, another on Earth, one on a colony world, and one would be set in one of the alien civilizations. The stories might be intertwined, or not. It would be a way to see the Star Trek universe from 4 differing points-of-view. I think "Star Trek-Galaxy" would be a good title for the series.

CBS best bet would be to have show were Starfleet cadets learning about UFP history in Holodeck. Because show like that could last forever. If actor demand to much more pay CBS get new actors. Best of all it could go deeper into best Star Trek show ever written like Best of both Worlds, Yesterday Enterprise.

I hate to be a jerk about it, but this reads like every other fan-idea for a series I've ever seen.
