I don't really think you can decide between the 2 because Ezri only had one season compared to Jadzia's 6. Jadzia was more confident while Ezri wasn't sure about herself. Jadzia was sexy & Ezri was cute. Both were good.

Cute and sexy are not mutually exclusive. Ezri was both.

It's not that fair to compare a character who had 6 seasons to change and mold, to a character who only had one season. Both Dax's were great and both Farrel and deBoer did an excellent job. My favourite is Jadzia Dax, but, who knows... if DS9 had 2/3 more seasons, I may have chosen Ezri.

Hear, hear - I always found Ezri the more appealing of the two Trill. Jadzia was nice, don't get me wrong, but Ezri's sweetness, good-naturedness (if that's even a word...) and her humility in acknowledging her vulnerabilities were more charming to me than the self-assuredness and aloofness that Jadzia could sometimes display.

I liked Jadzia, i wished that had done more with her hairstyle though.

Another question one could ask is how Ezri would have developed if given another six seasons.
Ezri had so much more room for growth than Jadzia - her insecurities, her lack of preparation for joining, her relationship with Julian, etc., while Jadzia's development was somewhat stunted and (apart from the whole Worf thing) seemingly forgotten the next episode.
One season of Ezri's impish charms might not be enough for some people, but you can try to level the playing field with some simple thought experiments.

Ezri has since been well developed in the books. They put her over the top for me.

I hear the DS9 novels are quite good. I'll have to try and get hold of some. Where should I start?

I didn't feel like reading all to keep up so I went to memory beta and read up on the ds9 relaunch before picking up with destiny. If you don't want to cheat like me, at least read Unity which deals with Sisko's return and bajor joining the federation (not to mention the tng parasites). I would also recommend Avatar since it sets up the relaunch's new characters. For Ezri and the Aventine, you want Greater Than the Sum, Destiny, Singular Destiny, and Typhon Pact.
