Voyager Movie?

I certainly think it is possible to make a good Voyager movie for tv/dvd. The finale was disappointing, in many respects, and for many left the series on a negative note. I think a movie would be a great farewell to the series IF it was done well.  That is my biggest concern - that it would be poor. I, like many others, would hate to see a continuation of Chakotay/Seven. I don't think I'd even bother watching the movie if they were a couple in it. But J/C would be a huge draw. In all honesty, I wouldn't like it to be about the Borg either. I think the Borg has been overdone. Neither would I like to see a movie take the direction of the books.

As to movie storylines, there are all kinds of possibilities, it just takes a little imagination  I do wish they would let us send in ideas/scripts. It surely could not do any harm to read them. It's hard to plaigarize when one is writting about already created characters in an already created universe.

Aww. I would have LOVED to see a vgr movie, a year or two after the show ended, but the idiots in charge truly dropped the ball, and now the actors are too old and moved on, and probably wouldn't want to be involved anyway. Maybe they could do a "reboot"? Get different actors to play younger versions of the characters... I dunno. Then again, I don't think I trust the writers who did voyager. Lord knows they screwed up countless times in the past... i think the reason this is even a topic is because we all (Voyager fans) feel a little cheated. The show didn't really end on a good note, too many questions left unanswered, too little comraderie... I dunno. I blame the writers. -_- But I would like to read a book about Vgr - but ONLY if it has Janeway. Otherwise, forget it!

If they were to do a Voyger Movie, they should take Christie Golden's books Homecoming and The Farther Shore and make those.  It is the perfect ending to a perfect series.

Not really, that's more the naysayers talking that weren't happy with the franchise. Voyager actually in terms of ratings did better than DS9 and Enterpise. (We won't include TOS, but many forget it was cancelled and a flop and only became popular in syndication).

Voyager according to the viewer ratings was only beat by Next Gen. It may not be the overall fan favorite, but the general audience obviously enjoyed it.  It's series finale's ratings was also one of the highest watched of all time, beating DS9, Battlestar Galactica (2005), Smallville, Stargate SG-1, Charmed, Family Matters, and many other popular shows. It was 117 out of 160 most watched of all time....now lets think about that...just how many shows have come and gone since the inception of television and Voyager made the top 160? Not bad at all.

Regardless of how someone feels as a fan, with those numbers as someone who has worked in film and marketing, there's obviously marketing potential there for a movie based on the numbers, which is all corporate tv and movie land care about. Movies are made with the general audience in mind first, the fans second. It's always about selling those seats.

>Unfortunately as much as anyone would like a Voyager movie it just would not happen as 4 of the main Cast Kate Mulgrew,Robert Beltran,Jeri Ryan and Roxanne Dawson have all stated they will not revive their characters and Rick Berman has also stated there is nowhere they could take a story as after 7 years the crew would have been seperated and given Earth based positions, He was contemplatinga spin off with 7 of 9 but Jeri Ryan put paid to that idea after marrying the Senator she has retired from acting.

When did Mulgrew say that? She just said in an interview last year that she'd love to do Janeway again if it was a movie, she just don't think she could do another tv run.

Jeri Ryan divorced Mr. Ryan in 1999. Remarried chef Christophe Eme. Currently can be seen on "Body of Proof", starring Dana Delany.

Re: a VOY movie? Too many years have passed. Time has changed how many of the actors then looked, and for many of them, it is just not possible to get it back. Have seen Kate Mulgrew, and Robert Beltran on some other shows and they have aged. It's life.

I am one of those people previously mentioned, who very much liked the series conclusion to VOY. Found it far more satisfying than any of the others. Plus, I really enjoyed the entire series, too.

I think a good example of a bad play at making a movie too late was with "Sex and the City". The series finale was a great ending. They should have left it there. And their movie was only 4 years after the TV show ended. Since I think everything was wrong with the movie, and this site is not about them, I will leave it there.

Would love to of had a Voyager movie but far too much time has now passed. It was sad to see it end but all good things must come to an end. they can't go on forever.

i think we all just have to live with watching the dvd's over and over again.

The Star Trek Universe has moved on and they have now a new direction.

I would have LOVED to have a Voyager movie... But then what would they do? They defeated the borg, they made it back...I guess they could have made one on Homecoming but not really.

I think they could definately do a Voyager movie . . . mainly because of the way the final episode began, with Admiral Janeway in the future and the rest of the crew having a Reunion celebration to remember when Voyager finally came home.  Why couldn't they begin right there but with the actual crew - - yes they would look older, but they would suppose to look older as a lot of time has passed since Voyager made it home.  Tom Paris and B'Elanna's daughter could actually be in starfleet.  They could show what happened to everyone - - sort of a where are they now.  As far as a storyline - - Neelix was suppose to be back in the Delta Quandrant as a Starfleet liasion - - maybe they get word that he needs Captain Janeway's help and they go back to the Delta Quadrant to help him? Or maybe they hear of another ship getting taken back to the Delta Quadrant by another caretaker and they go back because they are the only ones with knowledge of the species in the Delta Quandrant and can map the area and help them?  I don't know, I am not a writer but, it would seem like they could easily do something - - especially if they open the movie the same way they did the final episode, with a Voyager reunion except this time the actors would not have to wear makeup - - as they have all actually aged.  I want a Voyager movie!!!

I'd love to see a Voyager movie. There are so many great possibilities. Sadly I know it will never happen. Especially not now that they are making the new movies and rebooting the entire franchise.

I would LOVE to see a Voyager movie!!! maybe species 8472 are invading the delta quadrant again and neelix somehow gets a message to Admiral Janeway, saying they will only talk to the original federation ship, meaning voyager. so she rallys up the crew, and starfleet advancements in transwarp theory allow them to get there relatively quickly and deal with them. maybe the borg would be involved. but i really don't want to see any of the voyager crew killed off. but if a voyager movie is to be made, it has to be quickly, before the cast gets too old!!
