>Um, I vote against tougher gun legislation because it doesn't work. Gun violence is down while gun ownership is up. Research has demonstrated this.
Exactly!  The ProRegressives don't want to research this because they'll find the truth.  They don't want to know that privately owned arms allowed the colonists to defeat the tyranny of the British government.  They don't want to know that other countries have thought about attacking the US, but chose not to because they knew the citizens were armed.  They don't want to know that privately owned arms save lives every day.

They don't want to know that the gun debate was settled in 1791!

"... the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

A right means that it is God / nature given - not a privilege granted by the government.

And since so many of the ProRegressives try to redefine words, they really should look them up.  For example, the word infringe (using the dictionary) means to encroach, to violate, to transgress, to limit, to weaken, to breach.

These "gun control" laws do exactly that - they encroach, they violate, they transgress, they limit, they weaken, they breach our right to own arms.

>No, Obama is spending this country in to nonexistence, just at a faster rate. We really should learn from Greece, EU and Spain. Unfortunately, we are not learning from past mistakes at all.
Yep.  Remember when Obama called Bush "unpatriotic" because of the spending/debt?  But what about Obama spending even more????  (Remember, Obama added more to the national debt in < 4 years than Bush did in 8.  Obama is on track to add more to the national debt in 8 years than ALL 43 previous presidents combined (he's already passed the first 42).)

If it wasn't for double standards, the ProRegressives wouldn't have standards at all.

I often think of Obama's comment about "bitter Americans clinging to their guns and religion."

Clearly something about guns bothers him. I mean, he blames the US for gun smuggling but doesn't acknowledge his administration's role in bringing guns in to Mexico:

^^ Yep.... We can just look back into history ... only tyrants take away guns from the citizens.

"Gun control" is not about public safety - it's about controlling the populace.

I do think it's a major "tell" that Obama's administration was caught smuggling guns across the border then turns around and uses that to try to limit the rights of citizens to own guns.  Doesn't that sound similar to the democrats blaming the conservative/libertarian groups for the IRS targeting them?  (See the testimonies happening in Congress.)

I almost shared this yesterday, but wanted to wait until it was confirmed.... Now it is...

The Obama administration is snooping on millions of American's phone calls every day!  This came from a classified FISA warrant that was leaked.  Today, the White House said it was “a critical tool in protecting the nation from terrorist threats.”  Really???

Even MSNBC is feigning shock at the abuses by Obama...

Note:  Remember.... Senator Obama was against this very thing.... but now that he's President...

Note #2:  Remember that about 3 months ago, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said that this exact thing was NOT happening...

Once again.... double standards... (and lies)

Mark my words.... as people start investigating and a few people of conscience blow the whistle, we're going to find out that the Obama's (and probably previous) administrations are spying on the American public at large will be quite extensive.  So much for the US Constitution...

And in yet another flagrant snubbing... AG Holder has ignored Congress' deadline to explain his inconsistent testimony...

Wow.... things are happening a lot quicker than I expected they would.  More and more people are blowing the whistle on the goverment's anti-Constitutional surveillance of the American citizens using general warrants. CALEA... PRISM... a lot of this has been exposed the last couple of days and I fully expect more and more to brought out into the sunlight.

Sadly... the administration is fighting to continue spying on all US Citizens and even wanting to keep secret at least one court ruling calling the spying unConstitutional (http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/06/justice-department-electronic-frontier-foundation-fisa-court-opinion)

Even many Obamazombies are starting to wake up and see that Obama is doing is wrong... even though Obama's defense of it is basically "Trust the Government."  Does Obama really not understand that we're not supposed to trust government?

He'sDeadJim6400, You need to wake up, man. Don't you know when you're being lied to? Haven't you any discernment? Where's your logic and critical thinking? You really have to not want to see the truth to continue having faith in this administration. There's a reason why we have the phrase "drinking the kool-aid". Anyone who would blindly follow someone without asking questions is not thinking straight. You seem to care about gun violence but are willing to ignore the deaths of hundreds of people thanks to Obama's gun running in Mexico- a patently illegal and immoral action. You should want to know the truth. Everyone should want to know the truth, even if it means they were wrong all along.
Know the Truth ? who's truth ? REPUBLICAN TRUTH ? BAH ! Obama had nothing to do with that mess in Mexico, yes I do care about gun violence, so why did all those gun owning Hillbillies in the Tea party voted against tougher gun legislation ?  what are they waiting for ? the next crack pot to shoot up another school or half a town ? Tell me what will it take for "conservatives " to get a clue ? how do they get the ammunition so easy  ?OH they just ask for it ? listen to me, forget about the bull you hear from conservatives, OBAMA is the BEST thing for America right now, he's moving the country in the right direction and america is safe now, look at the econmy compared to when that idiot Bush was in office, elderly who couldn't afford health care years ago HAVE IT, so yes I will drink all the Kool aid in the barrel and give you some too.

Um, I vote against tougher gun legislation because it doesn't work. Gun violence is down while gun ownership is up. Research has demonstrated this.
Gun violence is DOWN ? explain the recent shooting at the college campus in California, killing 6 people by another freak using the AR-15 semi automatic rifle, the same weapon used by the killings in Aurora Colorado and Newton..Fireproof, you seem to have some intelligence, open your eyes, these lowlifes are getting these guns and ammo too easy, we need to act now, pretty soon every psycho with mental problems will own a semi automatic rifle and alot more lives will be lost, the rich conservatives don't care about this, they don't care about people dying, all they care about is destroying The Obama administration.Wake up before it's too late.

Greatness comes to those who really want to do anything to get it.

Obama said last week that "We don't want to tax ALL businesses out of business,"  No.... he just wants to close businesses that he can't control or that he doesn't like....

He also said, "We don't think that top-down solutions are the right way to go.  We believe in the free market.  We believe in a light touch when it comes to regulations."  Really?? Is that why he pushed through Obamacare (and many other massively contolling laws) and thousands of new regulations?

More proof (not that we need any more) that Obama continues to spend more and more:

US deficit grew by $139 billion last month, an 11 percent increase from this month last year (cited by Treasury Department.)  The feds spent $336 billion and took in only $197 billion in May.

But there maybe some good news:  the U.S. government might be able to close out the year with a budget deficit below the $1 trillion mark, a first since 2008.  Only time will tell (unless they're using funny math to make it look better than it really is.)
