I would be happy to see another series in any form. A series set in the new universe, possibly even following the alternate universe version of the original Enterprise (commanded by Kirk, with Spock et al) could be great, but I would maybe like it even more if they made a new series set in the prime universe to which I have grown so attached. Both would be ossim.

I think they should go a totally different route, like go REALLY far into the future like Enterprise J with Crewman Daniels.

I was thinking about that very idea this morning. Not necessarily with Daniels, as the Temporal Cold War was (for whatever reason) pretty unpopular. I would like to see something set in a thousand years or so. It would also be quite interesting to see what people from the distant future think of us—after all, their archaeology could lead to some misconceptions.

There are a number of great options; A new STTOS, introducing us to another USS ship in the era. They could continue STTNG with Capt. Riker and the USS Titan. They could continue the Enterprise series again showing us other NX ships going off in the Alpha quadrant. Has anyone read any of the Enterprise novels; they are great, they have moved the series forward and brought Trip back (kindof).

Can't go back.

All the original cast Star Trek Movies (with the possible exception of II and IV) was like TJ Hooker meets Mission Impossible with Shatner and Nimoy and the rest of them were just plain old.

TNG movies were awesome in Generations and First Contact but the last two were P.U. as P.U. gets and to kill off Data was just a waste. Other actors can play androids. Spiner was not the first.

JJ Abrams accomplished what he set out to do. And I was one of his biggest critics. Then I watched the thing he created... really watched it. It was brilliant. You can't get so knit picky about the details of the vehicle / format of the thing that you lose the entertainment value.

So Delta Vega could not possibly be in visual range of Vulcan (like it were some Vulcan moon)... especially not without getting swept into the blackhole Vulcan was obliterated by... And what super nova could threaten to destroy the entire galaxy? But so what? It was doggone entertaining!

Take any ST script... as much as writers and producers combed over every detail to make it palatable to sci-fi geeks, ANY ST script has holes in it or mistakes or cannon inconsistencies. So what do we watch Star Trek for? To gripe over the thing or enjoy the entertainment value?

After the way fans did Berman and Braga over ENT, we really don't deserve another Star Trek series. But if they are considering a new one, then yes it absolutely HAS to be the New format without Shatner or Nimoy or Takei or Koenig or Nichols, Stewart, Frakes, Spiner, etc. right on down to Archer's beagle.

Star Trek The Younger Generation.

What if they did a show with a completely different race? Like a show centered around an alien race when humans were not even in the industrial age and Vulcans were in Civil War or something like that? Idk... just an idea.

I agree with Johnd777 that after the way fans treated Rick Berman and Brannon Braga about not only Enterprise but Voyager too, we really don't need anymore series. The sad thing is, Berman really did an awesome job. Brannon Braga did too, and so did Michael Piller (RIP)

The sad thing is, Star Trek fans, generally don't appear to be fans at all. If you are a neutral obsever, you'd think being a Star Trek fan, actually means, that you hate Star Trek. Because if you watch our behavior as a whole, all we know how to do is complain and whine about every little thing that isn't perfect, when in actuality, it's just fine. Nothing is completely perfect, 100% of the time. And considering all that Rick Berman had on his plate, it's amazing he got it all done at all. I mean, running 2 series at a time, as well as getting films out on top of it. That's alot of work to do. Had TNG gone on for an 8th Season, he'd have been running 3 series all at once, and still working on a film. I love all Trek. Enterprise was good, and I felt like Rick Berman and Brannon Braga, were trying to give us a beginning to the story. TOS just jumps right into everything. It made sense to do a prequel. Granted I think TOS and TNG should've always been making mention to the NX-01 and Captain Archer, it would've made things easier. The funny thing is, I think Enterprise could've been exactly the same, and had the other series made mention to Archer and his crew, the show would've probably been a success. Our so called fans, abandoned Star Trek because of a minor inconsistancy. And because of that, it cost what was probably already going to be our last series anyway, 3 of it's seasons, as well as a possible film. Frankly, it wasn't worth it. The new 2009 Trek was alright. But I'd happily trade it in for Seasons 5-7 of Enterprise.

They need to make a less family friendly series... with swearing and sex.

I think the problem is that the highs and low of star trek are greater than other series. For what ever reason randomly all time bad episodes get greenlit becuase they dont have a better script ready to be produced and its going to have some backlash. I think any new series has to be past the TNG era to show off new technology and ideas. One of the problems with ENT was the restrictions of a pre TOS level of technology

uh-huh?? And why is that? Star Trek is intended to be family friendly. It always has been. Star Trek is a superior series because it's able to tell good stories without all that HBO crap. Most of the shows on today are trash because they fill their series with trash. Star Trek is better for that reason alone, kids can watch it, adults can watch it. Star Trek is perfect just the way it is.

If there is to be another series, I'd like it be Either Star Trek Titan, or explore the idea of continuing Enterprise to a certain extent with a series about the Enterprise J. Myabe Enterprise cast members could make guest appearances or something.

Titan would have been great if it had been made 10 years ago

I dont think you can do too much with a star trek series set in the tng era. When tng started in 87 touch screens, voice activation and wireless communication were futuristic, now they are part of everyday life.

edit: forgot to mention we even have padd's now
