It might be best to go elsewhere until they get these issues sorted; it's painful!

It's strange, being a catalyst for things that move outside.

I'm using IE8 to view this page and post right now. No editor, and the posts are inverted as you say. CBS' excuses simply don't hold water. Would someone with IE7/8 or some other more 'modern' browser tell me if they see an [Edit] function, please? I don't see it and I sometimes make posts with mistakes even after trying not to. The moderator on the old boards was most irritated and threatening about posts with spelling errors and I wouldn't want to get banned for making them... Thank you.

And that was a bit screwy... It put my text in your quote... This is just irritating as hell.

If I cannot post images in order to discuss Star Trek I WILL not return to the site.

I'm waiting to see if they work it out.

startrek.com in its various guises is 16 years old. In that time it only became possible to post images in posts in 2008 when the ability was activated by a CBS mod at the request of a single user without asking the rest of us for our thoughts. No more images in posts is a good step forward IMO.

Sometimes people abuse the right to post pictures buy uploading hugh files which take forever to load, or stretch the page way beyond reason so I vote NO.

You can always post a link to pics.

Oops, thought the poll was asking if imgs should be allowed.

I see improvments every time I stop by so as long as the bugs keep being addressed I will visit every once in a while.

The privilege to post images has been abused by some people posting offensive sexually explicit images and pornographic images at the other board so perhaps it's a good thing that this general privilege has revoked here.

So you think the majority of posters should be penalized for a few who might post "offensive sexually explicit images?" Some of the best threads on the old boards were photo-based.

And you can still do those threads by linking to the pictures. We coped with doing that for several years, we'll cope again.

I can't imagine that I would still be online and not checking in on St.com Hopefully they will sort out the remaining bugs and this board will become fully functional.

I don't care if communicating with images is relatively new or not. It's simple snobbery to limit the way fans can communicate with other fans. The dark ages are not desirable to return to, and such irrational limitations of communication mediums is not something I will condone or enjoy.

If emoticons and images are not restored eventually, I (for one) will not return to this site.

It's not snobbery and it's not limiting communication. Posting a link to a picture is as equally effective as putting the picture in a post and it served us well for many a year without anyone asking the Marc Wade team to change things.

And it's not 'dark ages' as you call it, it's more common than you think. Over on the DigitalSpy forums not only is putting pictures in posts not allowed there are avatars either. It's a very effective way of keeping the forums clean and easy to read.

Too much vindictiveness and nastiness going on here everyday, so I am seriously considering leaving. It's just not pleasant to come here.

try one of the smaller offshoot boards. They are usually more pleasant.
