I could post this in an existing thread, and there are probably many threads with this same topic, but I wanted to just get something off my chest and maybe the Admin's are reading.
Is this pretty much it in terms of what we're going to expect the new boards to be? I mean there are a number of things that have been suggested, and while some of those things have been solved (I only see one thing that's been resolved) many other repeat suggestions have fallen by the wayside. The Admin wanted us to write down any notable things that are issues with the new board system, and while we've done that, Has anything actually gotten done. I mean these are the top three situations I think the Admin's here need to address:
1) Thread Order. Threads are appearing as random and while people can change it, it doesn't really do any good. I remember posting a thread in the Enterprise Forum a few weeks ago that now I can't find because it's probably on the last page. The order should be sorted by last post and it's not.
2) Jumping to the first unread post. This is probably the most annoying thing. Having to click into a thread and then not knowing where things are and having to go through pages and pages of stuff just to find what you're looking for. Most boards have this while this board does not. Heck, isn't it normal to have this so-called feature? It's not really a feature, it's a function.
3) Editing of posts. Where is it?
I could go on, as there are so many more things wrong with this board but the point is this. It's been three-four weeks since the new board has come online, and I almost get the sense of the admins are done with everything in terms of improving the board. I get the sense that this is all we're going to get. God I hope that's not true, but a board can't run this way. I know I haven't posted very much (even before the switch which was my choice) since the first few days. Now it's been 3 weeks.
I know the Admins are busy, but I urge them to come on here and give an update on what's going on. Not just for the boards, but with the site as a whole. We've had issues regarding the library section and a lot of these things are going unanswered. Hopefully this isn't what the new board and site will be in the long run. If it is, I might just stick with Trekbbs and Memory Alpha. This was supposed to be the official site of Star Trek. Not really professional looking for an Official site unfortunately?
