If you see an issue that seems to violate the rules of these boards please report it so we can look deeper. With your help we can moderate these boards much more efficiently, however do not abuse the "Report this".

Interesting comments, especially the one pertaining to misuse of the report system.

I find this to be an interesting stance, and one that would benefit from further clarification in view of member(s) here who thrive on threatening other members with report submission for what they perveive as rule breaking. Seems a little contradictory to advise members against abusing the report system when there are members who freely advertise, via posts and their signatures, their willingness to use it as a tool to beat other members around their proverbial heads.

Gotta agree there. I've noticed too. I've even seen a couple of newbies are coming in with "report threats" in their sig lines.
Also another reason to expand the Report box. Potentially unnecessary reports can be eliminated if we can make our meaning clear to the staff without having to report several posts as examples and hope the staff member reading can connect the dots.

Quoted for truth and also to add: If not including an text box for the 'other' option then maybe when clicking on the 'other' option could forward us to either a link or open an email that would go directly to Admin in which we could explain the why for a report.

Peace

I've already commented on my desire to see the thread reply order reversed, but I'd like to throw my two cents in on the quote function too (along with others).

It would be great if you could work on the quote boxes. It is very hard to determine which quote belongs to whom. This becomes very evident when you have a whole chain of quotes. There needs to be a clear division between each person's quote (a box with borders preferably for each individual quote).

Many thanks.

How about when we reply to a thread it just goes to the our post or "page 1" in the new format.  A bit annoying to post a reply then the thread zip to the last page of the thread.

It would make sense for it to push us to the last page if the order of the posts were correct...., but since it's not, it's just frustrating.

If that had been an actual post you would have informed us?
I thought it wasn't working... what I think happens is, if you are generating a long post, and the mythical "timer" goes off and you are logged out, when you hit submit you are screwed. (using the post reply function).

Yesterday when I was typing a couple fairly long post, I clicked on submit and it said I was logged out, but when I logged back in, on post I had to re-type and the other time my post was there. ??? Go figure, hmmm

Now that didn't happen when I do the same thing in the Quick Reply box or Full Editor. Something's changed with the post reply thingy...

That only happened once, though. And it surprised me, too I wonder if it was a glitch?

I would really appreciate a legend and or explanation as to what and how to use things here. For example how in the world do you place pics here. I have seen people do it all ready so I know its possible.
If some one can provide me as to how to do that it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Step1: Get the web address of the picture eg. http://www.a.b.jpg Step2: Type in : " It doesn't always work in all posting modes and edit modes. Just try each one.

Thanks a bunch.
Will try that as well.

Make the screen look more like a TNG computer display and replace the reptilian xindi on the header. That the most exotic alien pic you could find?

The site is coded to accept HTML, so using the enter key doesn't work at all.

This should help with formatting your posts. It's a list of HTML codes.

Using HTML is annoying, but it seems to be the only way to format a post they way you want to here now.
This is the first time I saw this post and it's very helpful. I copied the link and pasted it on a comment in my profile for future use. Thanks AOS!

yeah this website should have an Lcars design to it!! and it should have wallpapers and screensavers that we can download. it used to, what happened.

I agree.

An LCARS design would be great, but it's unlikely, since CBS have just finished designing this one. Wallpaper and screensavers won't be too hard to implement, and I would like to see them.

Great site! As a fan of the original series I'll be having TOS guest stars appear at my Con for the first time, in New York city October 2011. Arlene Martel "Amok Time," Michael Forest "Apollo" and Grace Lee Whitney "Yeoman Rand" will be making their first visit to the Big Apple. They'll be joined by Beverly Washburn "The Deadly Years," who has been associated with my convention for the past three years. Full details are posted on my site blog at
http://www.myspace.com/captaincelluloid9000/blog/540002570 East coast fans come out and show your support! Thanks!!!

If this site is indeed meant to promote Trek, then make it available to us. Every episode. Every series. I'm not being completely selfish about it either: I WANT you guys to make money from Trek, so as to bolster future Trek-related projects. Surely ad support would outdo whatever DVD sales are right now, and it's pretty safe to say syndication ain't doing a whole hell of a lot. It also seems to make sense: with the movie last year and interest in the upcoming sequel, overall public interest in the franchise is growing, and would grow even more if the rest were made available. That's my two cents. Thank you for your time. < /rant >
