I thought of this but they are using different member names. The only thing is that you could reduced the total number of threads created on the entire forum. Traffic is so slow around here that it wouldn't really affect legitimate posters much.

True... but there are heuristics that can check to see if the same thing is being posted over and over, regardless of the user posting.  (It just needs to be careful not to flag quotes.)

the bets way to get back at the spammers is to trace them at the sorse and ban them from this site.

>2) restrict ALL members to no more than 10 posts per hour , extra posts made to be flagged by the admins and checked by them prior to becoming visible publically, any posting beyond 10 per hour for any one member that is spamming or trolling to result in immediate IP blocking.

>Perhaps when a member has exceeded their hourly quota a little box will show somewhere to tell the poster they have x number of surplus posts on hold for admin review or the system can automatically log them out and not let them back in until one hour has elapsed.
Once every six minutes??  When people get on at the same time, we sometimes get conversations going - very easy to surpass that.

Not quite that easy if they're going through a secure proxy or using a dynamic IP address (which is most of us.)

This idea isn't new, but it is extremely easy to implement: Admins, look at the site each night. That's all I'm asking you to do. Look at it.

I have an idea: Admins. Hire them. Find them. Put them to work. Please.

Ahh, Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the Klingon proverb which tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It's very cold....in space.

If the conversation posts take less than a few minutes to type , it can't be much of a conversation and is probably spam designed to boost post counts IMO.

Like that post?

Regarding Fandom Levels:

I'd like if on the profile pages there was something between "I catch an episode now and then" and "I never miss an episode." Some people, such as I, have seen most if not all of a particular series, but not of every ST series.

I know it's a small thing, but I just think there should be something between casual interest and completionist.

Thanks : )

Show: Stellarage ( April 13, 2029 ), instead of a meteor problem such as Apophis. The problem is of low primative animal race which convert the planet for it is own food supply. The additional problem is intelligent, but emperial creatures battle for succession over others territory and supply, instead of working together with all creature and their resources to be use in order to at least tie or break even in the conflict for the survival in the galaxy. The vessel identify by government name, destination name, and registry number: Unionfication Earth 1. The vessel is configuration of the United States Enterprise, Carrier Vessel Neucler 65 and it is officially call Stellar Shuttelcraft Carrier with 500 of the Shuttelcraft Fighter, design from the Eagle Fighter Jet 15, and also the housing cockpit in each call Shuttelcraft Pod, design from the Cobra Attach Helicopter 1 and that is for starter. I am jfelipe and the idea is from Andromeda. The consept is of a potential race with the ultimate goal to be at least a unify creature as that of the United Nations.

hiee all,

newbie here , however i would love to have chat interface or an IM system in here,

it would be awesome to have "chat nights" and get everyone to know eachother better, also a great idea would be to allow people to add friends/buddys, and have a friends list on your profile, ..one more thing that would be great is personal photo gallerys to post pictures of yourself/pets/children/etc..other than those things ,i cant think of anything else..GREAT SITE!!!!

I agree Sherry.  Having some sort of chat ability might make for interesting conversation. (Not to say what goes down on the boards already isn't interesting....)

What about having something called The View Screen? The View Screen would be a seperate forum where a member would pay $5.00 a month to use. They could create their own View Screen Room or use one of the pre-fabricated View Screen Modules for $3.00 a month. Each person not wanting to create create their own View Screen room could either pay $1.00 a week to connect to the general View Screen gathering area or they could pay .15 cents to connect to a View Screen of their choice as long as it wasn't a Private View Screen.

Although most would say we can just use Skype instead. The main issue that would be overcome is that each public View Screen would be attached to a listing of topics for the View Screen where the person could then select to take part in the View Screen. Moderators would be on hand to keep the View Screens civil and would come from those Fans of the these forums that know the rules.

The best thing about this system is that it would be attached to Star Trek.com, it would be moderated by Star Trek.com instead of being a third party service.

Lets revise the pricing.

A Private View Screen - $5.00 a month with upto twenty members joining the Private View Screen.

Non-Private View Screen Members - $3.00 a month would give them the ability to Connect to any public View Screen Forum Topic.

Gold Private View Screen - $7.00 a month (included with the Non-Private View Screen Membership plus $4.00) would allow the person the ability to look in on the production of Trek Movies and engage in discussions with production staff.

Platinum Private View Screen - $15.00 a month ( includes the Gold Package) would allow the person to look in on the production of trek Movies, engage in discussions with production staff along with taking part in live readings of Trek Novels by fans and actors along with being part of Away Team Operations where actors of Trek both old and new would fire up the online camera's to take the View Screen subscriber into a world that the actors normally live in when not involved with Trek...basically a Duck Blind Operation. You would to see all of your favorite actors and Trek Producers in their daily lives.

....gotta stay away from Captain Sisko though...or at least don't tell him what we are doing.
