Oh, and let's not forget the scene in Generations where Data is crying when he finds Spot. Did that emotion chip come with a manhood program?

I have seen many men weep over the loss of their beloved pets. That scene was actually among the more touching scenes and Brent and Marina played it very well.

Spot had been through a lot after all, it was a boy then a girl then a lizard, had Geordi then Worf take care of him/her, had to suffer through Data's poetry....

lol.

I see your point. I just think it would've been better if Data'd been really happy or overjoyed. If anything, I really wanted to see Data get pissed. I mean, "plum mad-dog mean". I really didn't wanna see him cry. But, I guess it'll do for the emotional appeal.

I'll have to ponder about the ones listed. Many of them I don't consider bad scenes at all.

One not listed, that I was looking for, was Uhura dancing and singing in STV.

That could quit honestly be the lowest part of the franchise. Yes, lower than TATV.

I commented on that earlier in this thread. I love Uhura....but that scene.....should'a hit the editing floor.

I can't believe she did it ¿:(

Always loved her voice though.

Yeah, she's always had a beautiful voice as well as her looks. Even in that movie, she was still fine....but whoever talked her into doing that scene should be ashamed of themselves. But on the other hand, if she felt like she still had it, I guess she felt like flauntin' it. More power to her.

Nichelle Nichols did have a fantastic voice, unfortunately to her dismay they dubbed her vocals with another singer for the film.

She was still and is still in good shape for a woman her age. She looked good even then, but it was not a good scene, it was always a bit uncomfortable.

Of course that was vamped up Uhura complete with hairstyle....lol.

I'm surprised that this has not been mentioned so far since it was the first thing that came to my head the moment I read the thread title, and that is the DESTRUCTION OF VULCAN in Star Trek 11!!! That scene had me shout "How dare they!!!" I mean, it's VULCAN, not just some nameless Class M planet! :whatthe:

I voted the Scotty/Uhura flirt scene. Ugh!
But would like to draw attention to Scotty's intro into Trek XI with that stupid little side kick mate of his.

I hate movies with a long boring scene (Star Wars' Star Destroyer, opening credits, LOTR's [Lord of the Rings] long walk scenes,etc.). I skipped all the long boring scenes in TMP.

Honestly, that didn't resonate with me like I thought it might.

Me, either. At best, for me, it was surprising. It was the last thing I had expected to see.  I found myself saying : "I can't believe they did that!"

I liked the Scotty intro. Especially the refrence to Archer's prized beagle. I liked the little side kick, too.

Ditto. I just wasn't that surprised by it, but then again J.J. Abrams was a part of Armageddon alongside Michael Bay, so should we be surprised?

Half the scenes in Search for Spock are unbearable.

However, nothing really tops the one "Shatnerisim" I am glad they cut out of TMP "View off. I SAID VIEW OFF!" That alone causes me so much agony

Kirk's "did we ... make a difference?" nonsense in GENERATIONS, when he was meant to be dying. Just laying there, with a trickle of red dye coming from his lip and talking without effort ... good grief! Another scene that bites from that movie, is when Picard enters the Nexis. That Christmas scene was absolutely horrible. Oh! Another one is when Kirk takes over Decker's command of The Enterprise in THE MOTION PICTURE. Neither actor seems willing or, more likely, able, to give that scene ANY tension, at all. It plays so flat and unconvincingly. The transporter malfunction sequence also has to go ...

Agreeable. Star Trek V. Good start with the emotional Vulcan thing, but why do they have to go looking for God?  I watched it in theatre, bought the movie, but way off the wall!
