warning: this is going sort of off topic.
ignore if that appeals,
but it was this thread that got me thinking
and it is reading responses in this thread
that led my direction of thinking.
sorry, if sorry is appropriate.

[T'Pol's quarters]
T'POL: Come in. TUCKER: (trying not to cry) The delegates at the conference, they've asked about the service for, for Elizabeth. They want to attend. T'POL: She was important. TUCKER: There's something else. I spoke with Phlox. It turns out there was a flaw in the technique that Paxton's doctors used in the cloning process. Human DNA and Vulcan DNA, Phlox says there's no medical reason why they can't combine. So if a Vulcan and a human ever decided to have a child, it'd probably be okay. And that's sort of comforting. (T'Pol takes his hand)
I thought that was really cool. |
always always
enjoy watching connor play trip.
but that scene
o.m.g.
since this thread interested me
to watch tatv again for detail hunting,
i doubled the examination
to see if i could also get a view
on the tp and tatv controversy.
trip's scene (quoted here)
is as as brilliant an acting job
as ever i have seen.
since i have not the strong opinion as others
about tp and tatv
i decided to watch them in reverse.
tatv then tp
okay.
i do get the hubbub now.
i understand.
tp was certainly a
perfect way to end the series.
the show was stronger
and worked better
on many more levels than tatv.
indubitably.
so argument from me anymore.
i am in agreement.
and
one thing i see
viewing them in reverse order this time is that
forever from this moment on and on
tp and tatv, for me, will be one episode
with tp being pt.1 and tatv being pt.2.
i know. suprised me too.
even tho there are obvious weak points in tatv
(which have been mentioned so i will refrain)
i like, really like
the jump to the future
to see the "fruition"
of the years enterprise and crew
put into the creation of
such a mind blowing alliance of diversity
that not only rocks their universe
it rocks mine!
and i deem it fitting
that those who make trek episodes
chose
to end the series with the
actual beginning of the federation
rather than the beginning of the
serious discussion of a federation.
i am aware pt.2 (as i will now refer to tatv)
did not match up to pt.1 (tp)
in many areas
however
i do see that effort was made to do so
i respect that effort was made to do so
i also see 'what' i think they were
making the effort to do.
that is what i have decided to think.
as to trip's dying...
omg
when i read on these threads
back in 2009 when i came here
that trip
trip!
was killed i had all the thoughts
i have seen expressed here.
all
watching this time thooooooooooooooo
let's look at it from a couple more sides.
(just give it a thought,
you don't have to agree
of course
just a wee thought)
this venture enterprise was endeavoring
was monumental,
humongous
really for all time big.
create the federation we all know and love.
it makes sense to me
that there will be unexpected cost
in the lives of those
we are invested in watching.
the show's over anyway,
why not make it b.i.g.
and i don't know if you know
acting or actors,
but a death scene,
at the end of the show,
if you're a beloved character,
is one of the most desirous
roles and actor can have.
i think connor fit the slot perfectly.
beloved character
end of show
death scene
actor's dream
and connor gets to top it off
with thousands of fans
in an absolute uproar
about your death,
well let's say
forever
and baby, you have made history.
and you got to wink
just before you died?
agreeably coulda shoulda been done better
agreed
agreed
tho i think connor came out
waaaaaay ahead.
a wink and a death?
fans in an uproar?
at the end of your
character and show?
cool
i did see the stuff the op described.
way cool.
