So I'm watching this episode 'Armageddon Game' with Bashir and O'brien coming up with a way to neutralize this 'harvester' compound stuff.
And I'm sitting here wondering why they don't just toss the lot of it into a star?
Isn't that the answer to half of our problems anyway?
Just throw it in a star.

That is a worthy solution, however, it may be more costly to design and destroy a ship that will deliver the disease and all its components into a star. I guess the real reason is that the writers simply didn't think of it.

Perhaps they were afeared that the compounds would be released into space through solar flares and.... oh. Hell. I don't know.

'Cos then the episode would be pretty dull. It's the non-common sense solutions that make such episodes interesting.
