"Lost in Space"

> id="QUOTE">:D

But none the less I like that campy quality of the show that most people here seem to be bad mouthing all about.

After all can you imagine Red dwarf being all serious and or Galaxy quest being all serious like some kind of technical manual?

I consider Lost in space, scifi comedy like the other funny scifi's I mentioned.

To me if they were made to be more "dark" in style, there would no point in me watching. But if some of you like reading and watching boring technical manuals then what ever floats your boat.  :bored:

I find it refreshing that a scifi can also be funny from time to time.

Not having ever seen a "Lost in Space" episode before, I really liked the movie that came out years ago.  Recently I have seen the first 4-5 episodes of the series and it really is "campy fun".  One of these , its so bad its good things.

Anyway, my question is, any "Lost in Space" fans out there that would like to see a reboot ala Battlestar?

Why?

So Don West can shoot Dr. Smith in the face?

Please don't BSG anymore of my shows, SG:Universe is suffering the same fate. Someone called it Stargate in name only.

I would want Trek back on the TV screen instead of a Lost in Space remake.

Russell T. Davis (the producer of Doctor Who seasons 27-30) told the Radio Times he turned down an offer to reboot Lost in Space last year. Considering RTD's past work I don't think they were looking for BSG-style dark.

Well to be honest, they did make a pilot a few years back but oh man I could tell it stunk just by reading the description and so didn't even bother viewing the clip.
They had Don West's persona an angry drifter type. Peeu.
And yes I've been a fan of the show since I was in diapers.
I'd love to see another Lost in space show but done with quality. I or rather we probably won't see that happen. :(
Dr Smith, the robot and Billy really did own the show.

Oh and I got to see the robot aka b9 and Robby in the same alcove behind glass at my local library a few years ago. It was sooooo cool, its just too bad I didn't have a digital camera back then. ¿

That's because the people in charge shifted more and more focus of the show on the creepy gay guy's obsession with the little boy. The other cast members were pretty pissed that Jonathan Harris was getting more and more screen time, even though they were originally billed as the stars of the program.

If they do end up making a LIS reboot, they should at least take cues from the 1998 movie; Gary Oldman's rendition of Dr. Smith was one of the best parts of that film. And the new robot was just bad@$$!!!

Watch the first few episodes of the original series...Zachary Smith was outright evil at the start, charged with bringing an end to the Robinson's mission...but was later turned into the whiner most remember him as.

LIS went downhill faster than most Irwin Allen shows, he managed to keep ABC's "suggestions" for Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea at bay for almost two full seasons before he began doing what the network was demanding of him and changing the tone of the show. The first season of VTTBOTS is really about as good as Star Trek TOS.

:logical:

I have also started to pick up the "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" DVD sets, each season is broken into two sets.  I have yet to watch any, but if it starts off as good as Star Trek, that sounds pretty good!

Anybody have any suggestions for actors if there were a "Lost in Space" reboot?

Ive got a couple of seasons of it on dvd.I love the campiness and spirit of the show.
Dr. Smith was my favorite character after the first season. His insults towards the robot kinda won me over-lol And I had a crush on Judy (BIGtime)

I would have to go with some unknowns at this point. It might be better to nurture them like that and keep them around after a series of films. These are kinda iconic roles. Then a TV series would launch them into superstardom.Established stars as villians etc would bring it attention. :logical:

^that sounds like a good idea

It was a good series/movie

but maybe we should beat people into coming up with a new and awesome trek series first...
