Hi,

I have two questions about the website and the continuum of star trek.

1) Will there ever be canon continuation with a post-dominion or post voyageur series? I would like to see what happens to the all the open ended possibilities with DS9/Voyageur season finales.

2) The startrek website use to be one of the most advanced webpages. The CSS and layout haven't changed all that much, how come?

I suggest you read some of the books out there.  Homecoming is about Voyager coming home (obviously).

I don't think books are canon, even gene roddenberry said so. ¿I do consider books canon if written by the original show writers. Are there any books out there like that?

You are right the books they are not canon, but if you can put that aside there is a lot of enjoyment in the trek stories that is out there.

As far as any books be written by the shows writers... sorry I don't have a clue.  I dont pay attention to authors name.  In fact I was on a this message board talking to an author of one of my favorite books and didn't even know it.  LOL

I agree.

I ignore 'canon' and take the books as they come. Good story or bad story.

D.C Fontana wrote a TOS book, uhhhh . . . Vulcan's Glory, that's it.

Jerri Taylor (that's her name, innit?) from Voyager wrote a novel, maybe the novelization of an episode she wrote, not sure.

Andrew J. Robinson--Garak from DS9--he wrote a few things, I think. I know he directed, but I don't remember if he wrote some episodes.

Welcome geektrek! Unfortunately before the new Star Trek movie came, Star Trek was dying... Just look at this sight. Anyway do you have any particular favorite series?

I mean dying in terms of new movies or new series, Star Trek finished on a bad note in 2005.

Note STXI had nothing to do with me purchasing the full series of Enterprise on DVD recently. It was conversations on these boards which led me to do so.

:)

Same again! My joining a year ago February had SUSPICIOUS timing with the new film out, but honestly that wasn't it! :D

I wasn't online till last year, is all.

I agree that I've never noticed anything "dead" about the online community here, even though some are claiming so. The rest of us go our merry way and visit with our buds.

Hi TB! :)

I can understand if a company wants to be cheap in these economic times but if CBS doesn't want to hire someone to update their site they could at least try to get volunteers to do it.

Starbase was in touch with the mod team on that; STD555 and Locutus have said that for liability reasons, only an employee of CBS can be a forum moderator.
