So I'm burning through SG1 season 5, when who pops up out of the blue?  Rodney McKay!  I'd probably heard that he was in SG1 on an Atlantis commentary track, but had completely forgotten about it.

Wow, he and Carter did not get along well at all.  I'm surprised she tolerates him at all in Atlantis.

Did the production give the aliens names on SGU? The ones that kidnap Rush and Chloe.

I know they were never named on screen, but they bare more than a passing resemblance to these guys:

FIGHT!

A Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Vs. a Stargate SG-1 episode!

Star Trek The Next Generation: Cause and Effect

Stargate SG-1: Window of Opportunity

I watched Cause and Effect last night which drives me wacko, so had to watch Window of Opportunity as detox, just to proove that not all Grounhog Day sci-fi episodes are utter rubbish.

Methinks Jack is going to beat Jean-Luc in this one!

Just the right combo of humor and adventure. I'm afraid Sheppard's one of those roles I'll always associate Joe Flanagan with--he was so perfect for it.

Good to see I wasn't the only Carson fan, too. But Rodney just cracked me up coming and going, and Teyla was great.

Then Ronin was absolutely brilliant! His so-controlled expressions and laconic answers were priceless. And what a cutie.

My favorite episode was Michael--SO well-written, classic sci-fi.

Good to know you are a Atlantis fan G.

That line was priceless ?

I think that line was originally on SG-1. Sam to Jack in one of those new space/aircraft....
I thought Jack said it? There WAS a similar line in SG-1, and it was someone's signature around here for awhile.
I had to look it up.

The episode was Unnatural Selection

Sam to Jack in the c ockpit.

^^^^I am continually surprised by how many ST actors show up on this series.

Even more so by how many actors who would eventually show up as second tier regulars on the nu BSG keep making appearances.   If I was an actor I would move to Canada, as the tax breaks require them to hire a certain amount of local talent.  My odds of appearing in a sci fi show would skyrocket.  A dream come true.

For anyone who has never seen Atlantis or SG1, or only saw them sporadically in syndication like I did, watching them commercial free and in proper sequence is delightful.

I just discovered that both complete series are selling on Amazon for only $90.  In the case of SG1's ten seasons, that's only $9 a season!!

Can you imagine ANY ST series selling for only $9?  One can only dream.
