Michael is still my favorite, just because I like a WELL-written episode with an I-didn't-see-that-coming wha-a?! moment reversal.  And from a story-telling point of view, it was brilliant to use it to incorporate the first-hand POV of "the other side". It really stretched Atlantis' perspective, in my mind, concerning the Wraith, from that moment forward. We needed a Michael and a Todd to ground the whole "relationship" between the species and suddenly make it more complex. |

I'm a Todd fan myself. I have not seen too many hot Wraith Queens though Teyla was the best.  |

Here's is what gets my goat about SG Atlantis (other than the finale, which I mean c'mon, they knew months in advance that season 5 would be their last and that's the best they could come up with? Say what you will about the finales for Lost, The Sopranos, Seinfeld, even ENT, at least they tried to do something different) Okay, back to my goat, When oh when will they release this series on BluRay? It was videoed in HD was it not? So what's the delay? I've vowed not to watch the series again until I can do so in BR. Looks like I will have a long wait as I can find nothing about plans to release the HD version.  |

I know there was a "Best OF Atlantis" Blu-Ray released in the US around the time when the series ended, but MGM had decided before the Blu-Ray came out that there would be no more Blu-Ray Stargate releases for a long time. And yes, I watched Before I Sleep last night, Bro!  |

Yeah, I've seen that particular release. I think it has the premiere and the finale episodes. I just read that MGM is near bankruptcy, a reason cited for the delay in starting production on the Hobbit films. Perhaps that is the reason they aren't doing a BR of Atlantis. They recently released a half season of SG Universe on BR, and it bombed big time because the price was about $60 for something like 12 episodes. It didn't even make it into Amazon's top 500 sellers, a rare feat! The price is now down substantially, but it still isn't moving off the shelves. Ha, serves them right, greedy hogs. |

My favorite episode is Michael, for most of the same reasons as grigori. Loved the story, the surprise, the nuanced changes in mood, expressions,and characters...well done by all the actors, therefore it was a delight to watch as entertainment and as artistic critique.
Rodney was a good foil for angst, and Teyla rocked as a strong woman character.

What did they expect? The show stunk. It was not worth going to Blu-ray. They should done the smart thing and went with a winner, Stargate Atlantis and took it to BR.  |
