I will also add that the Chinese look down on the Koreans and Japanese. The only reason China fought us (the US) in The Korean War was because MacArthur got to close to their border AFTER they told us not to.

China has to keep the U.S. happy (and alive), because their economy is so intertwined with ours, and ours with theirs.

If NK sunk the SK ship, then they REALLY ARE CRAZY!

If they fired in less than an hour they would have raised a good chunk of Seoul to the ground. That's why the South Koreans can't do a thing, military wise, without losing their capital city. Besides a war would panic the markets.

The US could save Seoul but only with the liberal use of tactical nukes to take out the NK artillery. I'm not sure Obama is up to that decision in the way Truman was or Bush would be.

And SK does NOT send refugees from NK back, it allows them to settle and gives them generous grants to smooth their assimilation
