who's the over achieving captain in your opinion.

Archer who founded the federation?
Kirk who saved the universe?
Picard who...got assimilated and killed Kirk?
Sisko who stopped the dominion?
Janeway who...travelled the delta quadrant?

you decide?

Archer was certainly the most earnest and single-minded in his training. He had a chip on his shoulder 'cause of his dad, did everything by the book, and took the fast-track to trounce all the competition for Captaincy of the first Starfleet ship of exploration.

According to Trip, he was frustratingly successful and/or lucky at everything he undertook. Like Picard, career trumped aspirations for family. He saved the Earth from the Xindi threat and the Terra Prime threat. Then he went on to become Admiral, Ambassador and Federation President.

But we haven't seen Picard's whole story yet. He's pretty driven and goal-oriented. Saved the Earth and the galaxy from the Borg. Might yet be the biggest over-achiever among them.

Kirk. Save the Federation numerous times over, defeated many enemies in battle, outmaneuvering ambassadors and outsmarting alien AI / machines. Fought Starfleet to get his command back and defied Starfleet to save a friend and fellow officer.

we have seen picard's whole story. His high morals prevented him from taking advantage of destroying the borg which was not good.  He was by the book type and couldn't fight.  Picard was pushed around on ends by Q.

you do know that during her travels from the delta quadrant she died quite a few times.

She was aiming to break the Guiness speed Record for most deaths in a single season.

 I found it funny that the other captains like archer, picard, sisko, janeway all died multiple times in their series but kirk who never died was killed permanently.  :O

archer died in season 3 in a alternate timeline when he got infested by extradimensional parasites forcing him to turn command over to t'pol.  The xindi destroyed the enterprise.

Picard died in the episode where he was shown a alternate life by Q which he begged Q to bring him back to life.

Janeway died in year of hell in season 1 also

sisko never died because he didn't even get enough screen time. Odo was more of a star than sisko was in ds9.

Ah. Sisko sorta died and that was the end of the Series.

Anyhow, in ENT, Trip "died" 3 times. Oops, 5 if you count E2 and Twilight.

You're forgetting the infamous "Vistor" episode in season 4, where he dies leaving Jake fatherless. But I'm not sure he actually died, more like vaporized. They thought he was dead, but he was just trapped in some other space/dimension, periodically reappearing like a ghost to haunt Jake. Poor kid.
