If James T Kirk and Jonathan Archer met each other, how well would they have got along?

Archer was Kirk's childbood hero and role model most likely

Kirk to Archer probably would have been like a Christian to Jesus Christ- maybe that's going too far but considering what Archer did- like become the captain of the first starship with the name enterprise, save Earth, make peace with several alien races and become the founder of the federation, I think Kirk would have admired Archer

On old school Kirk...he was quite the hero himself, a product of men like Archer, who inspired many Starfleet officers for centuries. Yes, centuries. Even in the 24th century they show Riker admiring the man. He wouldn't have picked the ENT program if Archer didn't have a legacy.

I think they would have beer and pizza together while comparing first officers.

Kirk and archer would've gotten along fine. Better than kirk and picard or kirk and janeway.  Just to clear things up. Archer is not kirk's hero. Kirk's hero is abraham lincoln, his father, captain pike, and garth of izaar. (father being #1)

They would have a long chat on their first officers. one being a vulcan biatch and the other a half vulcan logic machine.

Kirk would make archer proud on choice of successor.  Kirk could teach archer a few things like pushing the regulations but never crossing that thin line which archer couldn't do during the xindi crisis.  Also being faster on the trigger.  

If you want to compare lists of accomplishments Kirk's sound grander. Captaining enterprise on a historic 5 year mission that made starfleet adopt the delta insignia after kirk.  Kirk made contact with more species than anyone a record unbroken even to the 24th century according to some admiral complimenting on janeway's first contacts. Saved the federation directly twice and indirectly numerous times. Also the only captain to scuttle his ship to take out the enemy.  Travelled a combined distance of 200,000 lightyears to the other side of the galaxy, in the center, and out of the galaxy (under the enterprises' own power not some alien influence). Holding a time travelling record of 17 temporal violations.

Fanon would have Captain Robert April and his father George Kirk in that list. Archer may have been an inspiration, but remember Archer eventually became a politician...and beurocracy was something Kirk was not fond of. Kirk may have admired what Archer did, but Kirk's role models were others.

Abraham Lincoln was a politician.  I don't think the political thing would bother Kirk, depending on the politician.

I believe Kirk would do fine if they met some how.
But Archer on the other hand some time gets well its hard to say

Heck yeah, they would!
Compared to Picard, Sisko and Janeway, Archer is definitely the closest to who Kirk was.
