Most certainly a 9 out of 10 from me. This is just a few pro actors and investors from being a REAL trek tv series. Not too far off. Great storytelling. Brilliant use of flashbacks to give us great out of the gate character insight. The transporter technology has totally changed since we last saw it in Nemesis. I will leave it at that. The propulsion appears to be using borg style artifically created non fixed transwarp conduits similar to the ones used in TNG's Decent. But it was not specifically mentioned on screen as of yet.

I felt like I just watched a full hour episode and yet it was crammed into 30 minutes and got a lot out. I thought the phaser effects were to Warsy not so much the props. The tricorder being part of an away teams uniform makes far more logical sense. Why didn't any canon Trek ever think of that?

The sets did not feel too star warsy for me at all. In fact it appears to be a nice progression that will lead up to corridors on the Enterprise J in 2554  We got a glimpse of 3-d lcars controls in the transporter room. I can only imagine what the bridge will look like when it is finished.

The acting so far after one epsiode though is a slight step above Phase 2's actors. Pretty much the entire principal cast makes me believe they belong on a real Trek tv show.

The Romulans have finally settled on a new homeworld called Rihanassu which I am 99 percent sure I have that name mentioned in other Trek fan fiction. But of course a group of them are up to their old deceptive tricks as we saw in the pilot.

I will add more thoughts when I watch it again. But if this crew sticks with this in envision this show being bigger and better than Phase 2 within a year.

I seriously doubt if any fan series will be better than Phase 2. At this point I seriously doubt if it will be around in a year. I'll be glad if it is.

The only way I could foresee this series not being around in a year is due to the cost of building real sets as they do and the amount of volunteer work and time required to make this series even bigger. I guess if someone has the cash and wants it bad enough it will be around. At the very least Leo Roberts says part 2 has already been filmed but the cgi and scoring is not complete. He won't tell me if a partial or full bridge set yet is finished though.

You know I wish cbs would allow fan series to make some money. Just enough to support to cost of production up until a certain point. Perhaps they could be monitored like a non profit organization. They could establish caps and monitor the books closely. Perhaps if they go over a money making cap the rest could go to cbs. I mean think about it cbs could make a little money on Trek for doing absolutely nothing.
