Me only here for ST / SciFi themed and general chats.
Can't see the point of posting at other SciFi themed boards.
I certainly wont join any boards sight unseen or without being able to view posts there as a guest beforehand (what do they have to hide ?)
Also post at some astronomy,photography,4wd,fishing,and other boards.

I recently joined a couple others, but really, I'm not sure what they have on this place. For example, I was sorta promised "serious Trek talk", but most of the actual conversations don't get much off the ground. 4 pages for a good conversation? I have a 40-page thread over on the ENT Forum! There are plenty of people here capable of GREAT discussion of some really deep issues and analyses. And of course there's the fun stuff, games and Ten Forward, and I like that NO one here is both Member and my Mod. I know the other Boards I've visited don't mean to feel cliquish, they were kind enough to invite me, but there's something nice about the official Boards. My only complaint about this place might be that some of the Old-Timers DO sorta post as if it's a small satellite--the personal Ten Forward banter is fine and fun, but some of them never go anywhere else! Other than the Board they're on, I have absolutely no indication that these folks are Star Trek fans! Then I'm made to feel a little defensive that they don't know who I am when I've logged a lot of serious participation in other Forums! But for the most part, this place is great. The format is user-friendly and easy on the eye and flexible. There's a place for everything, and it's not dead (usually). I regret the loss of threads we'll never get back, of course, but it is what we make it.

Some of you really spread yourselves about.I've looked at most the other Trek boards and it's pretty much the same discussions and people as here.
I don't bother with Facebook.
