Thinking of retiring my old P4 3GHz lappy and wondering what speed gain I'd get from a i7 processor.
I don't play games,but I do a lot processor intensive tasks.

I know some peeps who have bought i7 Dells for video related tasks. They fly, apparently.

Just a matter of deciding which Dell laptop (I want to go up from 15" to 17"),how much RAM and how big a HDD and then finding the money to buy it.
Bit concerned they all come with 64bit Win7 which may make problems with my older 32b XP compatible apps.Is W7 SP1 out yet?
