Enterprise vs. Reliant - for the win

That being said V'Ger vs. the Klingon patrol was some awesome eye candy back in the day

>I actually think the Borg Cube battle in FC was the most disappointing in all the movies. Such POTENTIAL for drama, action, and human emotion in a large-scale, all-or-nothing battle.

>Instead, we got a bunch of CGI flies buzzing around a cube for 30 seconds with deadpan, unemotional lines like:

>"Hmmm...right-o number one. Beam he Defiant survivors aboard."

>or

>"I say, good man. Lock your weapons on to these coordinates. Fire. Good show, chaps, we blew them up."

>There was very little intensity, strategy, or heart to the secne. it wasn't even visually engaging. The short glimpse of the Battle of Wolf 359 in the pilot of DS9 was far more engaging.

>The battle in INS was useless and contrived...but INS was not a good movie. FC is so disappointing because it IS a good movie and the potential for a good scene here was completely lost.

>

I agree with you Vger, I think that the battle in FC could have been much better than what it was. As bad as the Federation was getting smashed by that cube you would think we would have saw a lot more ships destroyed or ships that were "dead in the water" so to speak.

I don't know, I think it was a fantastic movie, but that scene could have used a little more.

Battle at Wolf 359. We see it from the Borg's view, Riker and NCC-1701-D's view after they arrive post battle, and from Sisko's view on the USS Saratoga. It was cool seeing all those different vantage points.

I loved the battle in Star Trek VI.  Enterprise and Excelsior kicking the crap out of a cloaked Bird of Pray.  Just awesome.

FC sector 001 battle. How often do you get an awesome fleet battle!?!  It just needed to be longer.

>Out of all of these, I would have to go with TUC. VERY dramatic!
It was fun to watch enterprise get smoked. But how did the searching torpedo make that big of an explosion. Did spock and McCoy add c4 into it or something?

We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistances is futile. (P.S. Jem,Hadar are our friends, so watch out.)

TWOK was the best. It was the most personal.

Call me a sucker for special effects. But I perferred the battle between the borg and the Federation in TNG First Contact, and the battle between the Enterprise and the Romulan mining vessel in '09. Both made me hang on the edge of my bed and my heart race.

Nemesis would have been better if the ship actually did something other than cloak and open up like a giant bird.

Going to have to go with Nemesis.  The only time Picard really showed that he had any balls.

This is such an ignorant and untrue statement, it isn't even worth the time documenting all the contrary evidence.

The final spaceship battle in Ds9 was awesome. Romulans, Klingons, and Federation (with a final timely assist from the Cardassians) vs the Breen and Dominion.

Good stuff.
