i have just watch the full 4 seasons wish there were more the struggles the human error. the lack of technology to compete with more advance species, flying off the seats of their pants what a brilliant prequel to the antics of captain Kirks. ¿The end was a bit of a let down. it left more of the story hanging. i will still be buying the dvd series to add to the rest of my collection. just my two cents worth

Last scene of the series.....except for the Archer/Kirk/Picard Enterprise scene....

The wife and I both came to the agreement the other day that "these are the voyages" is the last episode on TNG.

I don't mean to insult anyone who really likes DS9, but I'm up to S5 after working my way through it for the first time since it was originally on (I was a now and then viewer of it back in the day), but if that show made it for seven seasons, it's really criminal that Enterprise was canceled after only four.
There are particular episodes and characters that I like on DS9, but on the whole, it's just eh.

BTW, I just watched Trials and Tribbilations. LOVED IT!! So great seeing TOS crew again. I liked the way they worked the DS9 crew into the old crew and Enterprise.

I liked the DS9 characters basically, but I agree it was uneven--at least as much as ENT. But you become fond of a show's setting and give it more leeway when watching it again, looking for those little details you missed. There are many parts of DS9 I loved, recurring themes, etc. And I feel at home with it.

Hi RomulanValdore,

I remember vividly being stunned by the changes in the show instantly portrayed. I wasn't expecting lyrics with the theme, but thought they were brilliant alongside the history of flight montage. When Captain Archer first told T'Pol - "You have no idea how much I'm restraining myself from knocking you on your a s s!" - I was taken aback. They curse. Other crews had to crash into a planet before such a reaction was evoked!

My best friend felt much the same way as you with regards to the simplicity and weakness of the ship. He was constantly antsy about them not having shields and being sitting ducks.

Your last point is very well spoken. From the way a lot of people talk, it's as if they treat ENT as a sequel rather than a prequel where everything's in an embryonic stage. ENT's portrayal of the Vucans brought a lot of sense to the DS9's portrayal of the arrogant Vulcan Captain in "Take Me Out To The Holosuite".

Are there any specific episodes that grab you, personal favorites?

Ironically, Archer isn't that great a fighter.

Yanks - I totally agree with you. I really had to push myself through the first four seasons. I did like Quark, O'Brien, Garak, Odo, and Rom from the beginning. Can't stand Avery Brooks' Sisko. The emoting is so over the top.

This fifth season is generally better. The actor playing Bashir has improved so much so, that I actually have started liking the character. Glad they added Worf and gave Nog more to do.

You're probably right that if Enterprise had been on the air then, it would have lasted much longer. For one thing, the "fans" wouldn't have had 14 years of other trek (DS9 and VOY) to become so obsessive and demanding about canon and how they thought things should have been before Enterprise came along.

We just watched, "These Are The Voyages," and despite some cool moments I thought it was an awful way to end the series. Like I said there was some cool moments and the fact that Shran (Andorian Clint Eastwood) married that woman and had a kid was cool. I loved Trip's last line and it was a fitting death, well despite the parts I liked it just seemed like, well, I don't know. The end was good, Picard, Kirk and Archer. Got something in my eye again...

He sacrificed his life for the Archers, ended the threat, and had the last word with one hell of a zinger! For a fictional character in a TV show, that is pretty neat. Now I did not like the episode as a whole and wished it had not happened but still a nice in your face arseholes way to go.

The Trip we grew to know would have come up with a way to save Archer and end the threat without giving up his life.

Yes, I agree with whyaduck.....Trip knows that ship inside and out, and he would be able to defuse the situation in a nonlethal (for him) way.
