Let's be honest. It's not just a messageboard. Maybe when we started it here it was but it has become more to us. We might hide behind usernames but we put a piece of ourselves out there. It's not like we're actors here playing a part .......... unless you're a troll. So yeah, we take it personally when we are treated badly or flamed or trolled or Admin doesn't 'get it'. This is real life people ......... just a different reality.
So stop acting like what happens here doesn't affect you. It affects all of us .......... just look at the relationships we build irl from this place.
Can we shut off the computer and walk away from everyone. Sure. But we always come back to *points* this part of our life.

It's a place where I come and chat with people from all parts of the world but I won't allow it to get me upset or twisted up about anything anymore. There was a time where I would take it personally when I would be attacked but I realized its pointless, I come here to chat and relax so there is no point in getting upset because it defeats the purpose of this place to me

Message board rookie here, yeah, at first it was nothing, meant nothing, then as I went along and as time past...a new outlook came over me.
Things said here really DO mean something, even though we're not all face to face, reading what others have to say does affect people on the other side of the cpu screen.
It took awhile for me to understand that.
But now I know...and knowing is half the battle...G.I. JOE

I'll never forget when a member here posted that he hoped I died a horrible,slow, painful death (in reference to my cancer diagnosis). ¿Those words are imprinted in my brain for life.....

If it wasn't for St.com, I would have missed out on making tons of friends, especially the ones who have broaden my horizons on the possibilities of existence.
I would have never shared my wife's birthday (who I met here) with Trekwolf and Dnesh, had an amazing dinner, and watched the opening premiere of the Star trek movie.
I would never exchange birthday gifts with Trekwolf.
I would never have had the chance to take Scooby out on her birthday.
I would never have had the chance to cherish the t-shirt that QDonQ sent me from the Star Trek convention.
I would never have had the countless hours upon hours of conversation over the phone from all the wonderful people I have met here.
But most importantly, I would never have had a chance to read their words and thoughts.
I could go on and on, and if I don't tie my hands, I probably will.
