Yes, but it's not that the bullying was any more extreme than what happens to your kids or kids in any other school. The only thing that was taken too far was the coping method of the victim. ?Her actions, not theirs.

So because this girl wasn't a rock of intestinal fortitude by your standards, it's her fault she was driven into enough despair to kill herself?

:logical:

i'm saying it's not the other kids fault she killed herself

People who think bullying is part of life and has any educational value are part of the problem.  Yes, children need to learn to interact with others and gain independence and strength, but we don't say that children who live in abusive homes are experiencing character building.  Violenc, threats and harrassment are wrong, and people who shrug it off, especially the parents of kids who bully other kids, are responsible for the consequences.  When you don't know how emotionally unstable a child is, or what other pressures they are under, then you should take the consequences for what you've done.  Groups of kids ganging up on other kids is wrong, and when you tell kids they just need to suck it up and deal with an impossible situation, then they will snap and either kill themselves or go get a gun to even the odds.  Bullying needs to be stopped by the teachers and schools, and they need reeducate parents who wink at it and think that threats and violence are all part of life.

Still seems fishy here.

Why not talk to Mom? Why not get the authorities involved?

Was she hiding something??

She did and they did. The school wouldnt do anything.

Depends on if it's full or not. You could also make a shank out of it. ?:logical:

Red Bullying ? :D

That is such a horrible pun.

it was there, dangling in front of me like a sweet sweet carrot.  I tried to say no but the pun kept calling to me POST ME BBB, POST ME BBB.... Sadly, I succumbed.  :(

It is hard to talk to parents about being bullied especially since the only advice they give you is to stand up to them (it doesn't work or can escalate the situation).  They already feel bad for being attacked all the time then no matter what the parent says if will feel like they are being attacked at home.

Is there any actual evidence that she killed herself because of them and them alone? Or are they just assuming that these kids are the reason?

According to the District Attorney investigating the case, Prince was the target of a four month long campaign of relentless torture and bullying from her tormentors. Not only did this happen at school in front of witnesses, they also did it in cyberspace and there are records of all that shit.

The cyber-bullying via Facebook is a trumped up charge.

All she had to do was take them off her friends list.

so is the statutory rape charge on a 17 year old. ?they were dating, they had consentual sex. ?they are just trying to make these kids pay any way they can. ?sickening

Well, statutory rape depends on the age of consent in the state...though I do agree with you. If both parties say "yes, let's have sex", then it's not rape.

Even if it's a 12 year old? They have these laws for a reason.

Hey, if that twelve year old thinks they're mature enough to handle sex...

civil rights laws broken? ?meh, the kids will get a slap on the hand...assuming the charge even sticks. ?Every kid gets bullied. ?Some get it pretty bad. ?No reason to single these kids out just because their victim didn't have the ability to cope.

You didn't just say that, did you, Kai?

:logical:

don't patronize me

So if your kids ever get bullied, are you just going to tell them to suck it up and get over it, it's a fact of life?

:logical:

Did I suggest anything like that? ?no

But I won't be pressing charges against a bunch of kids who tease my kid on the schoolbus. ?:eyesroll:

I completely agree with that! I have never even went as far to call a parent when my kid has gotten harassed. I just taught my kid how to fight back.

However, this is an extreme circumstance and kids as well as adults should be made aware of when bullying goes too far.

So where do you draw the line then?

And if your kid fights back, how do you keep your kid from being seen and blamed as the aggressor if he/she DOES fight back?

:logical:

Who cares if your kid is seen as the aggressor? In the end the truth will come out.

My daughter defended herself against another bully. The type of kid who's parent defended every action she took. The parent called me all upset about what my daughter did. I simply explained my daughter's side.

Of course the parent hung up thinking her kid was the angel, until a couple of years went by and her kid was always in trouble, always in a fight and mine wasn't. Then she called me to apologize and asked what she could do to change her daughter's behavior.

You really want your kid to earn respect, not be a tattle tale if it can be helped. Although some circumstances do warrant adult intervention, but I'm all for getting the kids to work it out themselves.

That's bullshit and you know it. It is psychologically and physically unhealthy for 12 year olds to be having sex. ESPECIALLY with an older person. Also 12 year olds arent mentally mature enough yet to make those decsions. Yikes, youre never babysitting my kids.
