civil rights laws broken? meh, the kids will get a slap on the hand...assuming the charge even sticks. Every kid gets bullied. Some get it pretty bad. No reason to single these kids out just because their victim didn't have the ability to cope.

It's about flippin' time something was done about this level of bullying! Maybe if kids realize they will be prosecuted for it they'll cut that crap out! Facebook is notorious for it! That's the primary reason I wouldn't let my daughter get a Facebook account until this year. Now she sees what goes on and realizes how right I was!

I have to wonder if she just didn't report them because she thought Facebook wouldn't do anything about it. |

That's a good enough reason to start making an example out of some of them, especially since these girls aren't even showing any remorse. |

Where were all the parents? My kids have both been the victim and the bully. I was involved at all times. Coaching them through why they were getting picked on and how to handle it, as well as making them apologize for doing the harassing! |

Ever read Stop Laughing At Me by Judy Blanco? I once encouraged a teacher to read it, stating, "Every teacher should read this, it's really the only realistic account of bullying, though it be severe." She replied, "Anybody who gets bullied is asking for it." "What the hell do you mean by that? This girl was at a slumber party where twelve year olds were having sex! She called her mom to leave, but her mother wouldnt pick her up until she told her why. Then when the other parents found out these girls tried to kill her!" I was then told to sit down. We need to get rid of these bully teachers too.

Facebook was criticised recently for not having a type of panic button that users can use if they're threatened/harassed. This was in the wake of a girl being murdered by some guy she met on Facebook who wasn't who he claimed to be |

remorse for what? bullying? Kids bully, kids get bullied....it sucks but that's the way it is and it teaches important life lessons to them. Kids don't usually have remorse for being a bully. Not until years later when they look back at how mean they were, that's when the remorse takes place. These kids did nothing more than kids do in every school across the country. |

the panic button would be PLEASE CLOSE MY ACCOUNT.  I swear..people have the mindset that the HAVE to have a bloody facebook account. |

Interesting you bring her up. You are right, there really is no difference. She gets bullied relentlessly here by an angry mob. Yet nobody feels remorse for what they do. |

So if your kids ever get bullied, are you just going to tell them to suck it up and get over it, it's a fact of life?

Did I suggest anything like that? no But I won't be pressing charges against a bunch of kids who tease my kid on the schoolbus. |
