What scene impacted you the most emotionally?

So many. From your list, it would be Spock's death in TWOK.

I noticed you didn't put anything from Voyager or ENT. I would say "Critical Care" was a rather emotional moment, or the end of "Terra Prime".

I thought star trek ruined that moment by bringing him back in the very next movie ¿:)

I thought that it was an absolute horrible idea to kill him off in the first place.

You just knew they were going to bring him back, didn't you?

Genesis and all?

Actually, I'm 20. I wasn't alive back then to speculate on the influence of the Genesis wave. I just think that killing off my favorite character was an overall bad idea, even though it was pulled off beautifully and they brought him back in the very next movie. :)

All the TOS movies have affected me in some way or another. Some good, some bad and some indifferent. The TOS movies are awesome like that.

You should at least have one from each series.

I voted "Destruction of the Enterprise (self-destruction in TSFS)"

Sorry folks, 1701 was every bit a character to me as Kirk and Spock.

""I created it and it's REAL!" (Sisko as Benny in "Far Beyond the Stars)" Avery's horrible overacting made me

I tired to come up with something from Voyager or Enterprise that I felt belonged in the same league as these other moments...but, truthfully, I could not.

I was never invested in those characters or those series. They just didn't make me care about what happened to them...so they didn't make the list.

Sorry, dude. I didn't make the choices to infer that those series were not good or worthy...but I had to stay true to what I felt deserved to be on the list.

Maybe (especially if you think there are elements I left out) you should post a "Part 2" and be a bit more inclusive of some of the stuff I left out!

I think I would have said "Spock..." but TWOK came out when I was 7 years old, and I watched it 100's of times on HBO and VHS during my younger years, so I think by the time I was a little older and more "in touch" with what death was really all about, the death of Spock was already "old news" to me...so it never hit me with the full effect. I think the destruction of the Enterprise 2 years later actually hit me harder.

It was probably just a timing thing.

Edith Keeler's Death (Kirk's pain in "City on the Edge of Forever)
Spock's Death (sacrifice in TWOK)
Destruction of the Enterprise (self-destruction in TSFS)
"This is goodbye..." (final sign-off in TUC)
Birth of Jim, sacrifice of George (opening of Star Trek XI)

funny how TOS has all the moving scenes of the franchise

Spock's Death.

Even though WOK had came out before my arrival into this world, it had been out for almost a decade by the time I got to see it and comprehend what happened. Even though TSfS was popped into the VCR just moments after seeing WOK and I knew Spock was coming back.

Many watches later Spock's death in WOK, still gets me.

Just a note. It was this scene that hit me the hardest in "Inner Light"

PICARD: No, not such a wonderful husband. I spend my spare time charting the stars. I disappear for days at a time exploring the countryside. My life is very much as it was. Old habits.
ELINE: You're gentle and kind. You never once raised your voice to me.
PICARD: I'd like to ask your permission to build something.
ELINE: Kamin, you've built your telescope, your laboratory. You don't need my permission for something new.
PICARD: In this case, I think I do.
ELINE: What is it?
PICARD: A nursery.
ELINE: Really? Really?
PICARD: Unless, of course, if you would prefer a porch. It would certainly be easier to build. I could make a start on it right away.
ELINE: No.

Yeah...

Really, that whole episode is unbelievable. There's really LOTS of great scenes in it.

I also forgot the end of "Brothers" where Picard breaks down emotionally with Robert.
