Let's get to it, out of all the movies who had the most DANGEROUS mission, in other words when was life on Earth in more trouble than usual..
All the Star Trek movies had danger to them but some were worst than others where life on Earth and elsewhere was in real jeopardy,
off the Top TMP had a sense of urgent peril as Vger was about to wipe out life on Earth,
in First Contact the human race could had been turned into the Borg, etc.
Which movie or Crew had the most danger to face

The Voyage Home

Not only is Kirk in trouble for stealing, then destroying the Enterprise, but also for traveling to Genesis, and destroying Genesis. Then - in order to save all life on Earth - he has to find a way to time travel back to the 20th century, find some humpback whales, beam them into a tiny Klingon frigate, time travel back to the present, deposit the whales safely in a large body of water, and hope to hell an alien probe is okey-doke with talking to just TWO whales!

THEN Kirk has to stand trial. And hope Starfleet feels saving the Earth one more time makes up for his insubordination and conspiracy charges...

Yeah, that's what I'd call a tough mission.

I concur, but I do thing TMP and FC were tough jobs to say the least.

I voted 'First Contact' The Enterprise was in danger, every crew member was in danger, the whole future of mankind and the Federation was in danger...pretty dangerous

I got to say that TMP, The Voyage Home, First Contact and the New Film had an equal amount of danger and risk to the human race.

As much as I love TMP and TVH, Mirrorgirl called it. All of Star Trek was put at risk in First Contact.

The same can be said for TMP and TVH and the New film.

The Federation would have survived in TVH as the Probe was only concerned with Earth. Spock specifically related that the probe had been sent to ascertain why contact with the whales had been lost. So it's unlikely that the probe would have bothered any other planets. Unless the Federation sent every ship to destroy it, which I'm sure the Vulcans would indicate that action to be illogical. V'Ger could have destroyed the Federation, but it too seemed preoccupied with Earth. The fact that the Federation already existed in TMP and TVH sets them apart from the Borg incursion.

Thats an assumption.

We dont know who sent the probe nor do we know what their intentions would have been if it haddent found any whales.

Those behind it could have chosen to send the probe to destroy humanity where ever we ran.

Just like Nomad, V'ger saw humanity as a biological infestation.

It planned to destroy all biological live on earth because it felt that we were restraining its creator.

Had it not learned that we were the creator its logical too assume it would have wiped out all life on earth.

And since that wouldnt end up not producing the results that V'Ger wanted, its also logical to coonclude that V'Gre may reason that all biological life everwhere must also die to find the creator.

A draw between The Voyage Home and First Contact because it involves going back through the past and then coming back to their present time. The chaos theory came to mind. Even though both missions were successful.

I voted TFF. Hey isn't breaching a galactic barrier that has been breached before and should also take 20 years to reach at maximum warp really dangerous? :p  :p  :p

Isn't running from a pissed off alien prisoner that shoots lightning from his eyes that would put the average human being in critical condition but instead has the equivalent power of low stun (setting one) an epically dangerous mission?

On a side note Dj acknowledged the latest Trek movie as Star Trek by calling it it's proper name. Wow! ¿ :whatthe:

TMP and TVH were probably the highest risk IMO.

First Contact was more dangerous to the crew than Earth once the ENT E kicked the Cubes arse, and after going back in time Picard could have easily stopped the Borg by destroying the ship.
