Are there any books in particular of STE that anyone would recommend?

most folks here would recommend Martin/Mangels "The Good That Men Do" that not only picks up where the series left off, but fixes everything we hated about the Finale. and it's followed by the book "Kobayashi Maru", and the ongdoing series The Romulan War: Beneath the Raptor's Wing that just came out last year.

there are many novels and episode novelizations; I think the best include Rosetta, Daedalus Parts 1 &2, & Broken Bow.
