I'd love to see this one pinned and the 'What ST Book are you Reading Now' be pinned, too. Those two would be good ones to have up top. IMO

By God, we've been pinned! I now must take a moment to publicly thank startrekdood555 for obliging us by pinning this Destiny thread. Everyone, thank dood! And I also wish to thank trekbuff for his kind PM with his sage advice for how to help move tings along. But then again, his advice is always sage! And grigori and CO_Fowler for thinking this was actually a good idea! WOOOO!

Big Thanks. it's still a modest thread, but it contains a link to the earlier one, and there's gonna be plenty from the stories generated by the events of the Destiny Trilogy to discuss... I'm reading A Singular Destiny right now, and looking forward to the further adventures of the Aventine in Mack's Typhon Pact novel later this year. But I suppose we should preface things with *SPOILERS*. *SPOILERS* So-o-o, Sonny, do you suppose other stranded "liberated" Borg will turn up? And...won't the rest of the liberated Borg have free will? once "healed", won't many of them want to return to their lives?

Liberated Borg have gone to extreme lengths in the past to return to the Collective. Just look at Seven after Janeway cuts her loose. If a Sphere was travelling through time, (ie, into the 25th Century) when the Caeliar "assimilated" the invasion force in the AQ, would they have been "assimialted"? That was actually an idea I came up with in 2001 after VOY: Endgame aired, if they ever wanted to bring the Borg back. All it takes is a few Drones...

No! They need their Queen, and the driving force behind her.

YEA!! Thanks for pinning this topic/thread!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, ect.. That said, I'm axiously awaiting the Typhon Pact books, too! *Here be Possible Spoilers* As for the Liberated Borg, it would be interesting to see how the 'change' affected them. I mean, look at Seven and how she was affected compared to Picard.

SPOILERS
Seven and Picard had "residual" effects because the Borg collective was still out there, and the Queen.
These Borg are REALLY liberated (they showed Seven and Picard part of that process, too)--and might wanna return to their lives after the Caeliar help "heal" them emotionally.

**Spoilers** I agree that Seven and Picard had the 'link' with the collective, I was alluding to what happend to both after the Caeliar solution. In the book ST:TNG Losing the Peace the difference between Picard and Sevens experience with the Caeliar solution are markedly different. So different that Starfleet sends Voyager and a small fleet of ships back to the Delta quadrant to search for possible remaining Borg &/or the Caeliar. I'm waiting to read more about that expedition and anxiously await new books on it As for the Liberated Borg, I'd love to see how the Caeliar help them with the emotional healing after the 'change'. It could be interesting to say the least

It really is a good book, you won't be disappointed. Though I really think the reading should be reversed, in that it goes Destiny to Loosing the Peace and then A Singular Destiny in addition to the other novels that play out at the same time. Which brings up a point slightly related to this.....Should I read the Voyager play into all of this? I've been looking at Full Circle and Unworthy for at least a year and I STILL have barely started them. Is this a bad thing?

I liked Full Circle It, for me, covered some other areas regarding the Destiny related stories. It was nice to see how Voyager and her crew played into the Borg War and now following into the after effects of the Caeliar

okay, maybe someone needs to put up a new "timeline" of the Destiny- post-Destiny-related books for THIS thread!

There are many that either allude to or are otherwise tied into and with the Destiny Trilogy
