What I would like to see is what is going on with some of the established characters during and post-Destiny. We saw a lot of Dax and the Enterprise, Titan, and Voyager crew during Destiny, A Singular Destiny, Losing the Peace, and the two Voyager Tie-ins, but we saw nothing of Sisko, Kira, Bashir, or pretty much any DS9 crew. I mean, with the widespread destruction, I assume that DS9 wasn't spared in the call for medical and evacuation aid. Bashir must have been doing something interesting, as well as the crew of DS9, including the post-series book crew (Vaughn, Shar, Ro, Prynn, et cetera), even if Sisko stayed out of it and continued retiring on Bajor. Hopefully we'll get to see some of what happened there one day?

SupAdmBevK I'm only halfway in the first one and highly recommend it. I already have A Singular Destiny & Losing the Peace lined up for afters, as well. :)

Characters from all 4 of the new Trek series. A bit of a trick keeping the many characters in 4 settings straight (easier if you've read other novels leading up to them--but the background is so well-explained, not necessary).

3-D character touches and all the requisite sensory strokes to bring scenes to life. And a great mystery to keep you hanging on...

Book Two is on my way from Paperbackswap.com!  I finished the first one and have been greatly anticipating reading the next book.

Thanks for another great series David!

I'm of the thought that even a not so good book is good to read ;)  And since I've been reading Star Trek books, I've come across a few that I read once and generally either don't read a second time or wait a very long time to re-read it. I like the trilogy so far. Although in my case I don't get to the bookstore too often, it's 60 miles away, and the stores here seem to not get the books in order too much ( Pamida and Kmart ) so I end up reading the first of a numbered series then the last and sometime later get the one (s) in the middle

I just finished the ST online book. It was a very, very slow start for me. In fact it didn't get better until almost the end, but I'm glad I stuck it out.

As for new characters, I kind of like it I mean it doesn't make much sense that the main characters stay together forever. And the ships do hold more than just a handful of crew. It reminds me of the one TNG episode 'Below Decks' I think the name was. Just because we haven't seen the characters/crew before doesn't make them any less important to the ship/story. Look at The Captain's Table series. Lot's of new people to meet!

Anyhoo, everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as they all remember to be polite when someone else disagrees with it. I never tell people to not read a book or watch a movie. If I don't like the book/movie I tell them why and let them decide. Wellllll, I take that back a teensy bit about the movie part. There is this one adult movie that no one should watse their money or time on LOLOL But I digress

In closing I say kudos to the authors of the books! All of them!! My only beef is that I have to wait for the books to come out, but that's only because I read too fast I guess ;)

Peace!

*Edited to add that it took me 5 days to read the ST Online book, even counting the last two pages that had to wait until the next day cause I was simply too tired to keep my eyes open :: winks ::

I've read dozzens of ST books but the best by far were the Star Trek Destiny series. I couldn't put them down and the way we find out how the borg were created is suberb (and much more plausable than Star Trek Legacy) If anyone else has read these books please add your opinion's i'd love to hear them.

The only regret I have is not reading the series a couple of years ago when I first learned about it here on Startrek.com. I spent the vast part of the week (and a few days prior) reading the trilogy, it was a really good read.

It was a bit strange, being in pain and out of breath doing burpees this morning thinking "What the heck is going to happen to Captain Hernandez?!"-thankfully I found out after finishing the last book not too long ago.

Thank you Mr. Mack, the books were great!

I read the first book awhile back.  Read it three times at least ;)  But each time I looked for the others at the book store and the stores around town I couldn't find the other two.  So I read all the other books that came out and told what happened after this trilogy.  Finally found the other two last Friday!  I bought the second one and just started it last night.  Chapter one was slow for me since I had to try and remember what I had read in the first book, but I got back into the flow by page 7 :)

I'm on pg 65 and I'm liking what I'm reading!  I might have to drive those 60 miles to get the third book before the end of this week instead of waiting until next month when I get my paycheck LOL

Keep up the good work, Mr. Mack!

....Finishing up the first book. I love it when books are better than TV. :D

I really wanna discuss...But I'm afraid of spoilers here if I get the ball rolling! BTW, how come no one discusses the workings of books in-depth on this Forum, the way we do over on the ENT Forum? It would be nice. :)
