Avatar was grand but we seen the plot in Insurrection. District 9 was original and certainly novel from the way the story was told. Others are OK.

At the end of the day I still prefer Star Trek. It's the only one that I would watch few times each year going forward. The only other that I would watch 2 - 3 more times TOTAL is Avatar.

The only movies I saw from that list are Star Trek and Watchmen and Transformers 2. I really wish to see them all because there are many good movies on this list.

I can only say that Transformers 2 is maybe the worst movie ever made and Watchmen is one of my favorite movies ever made. I put Star Trek in a class by itself but I cannot say which movie on this list is the best until I see them all.

I think the reason that Trek XI WILL be memorable for most people is that it contained that certain "magic," despite a number of flaws and nit-pickable elements. It reminds me of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in terms of the tone and feeling of the movie: an up-beat adventure, smarter than most but still flawed, with great characters and a great balance of drama, action, and humor.

Perfect film? No. Memorable and somewhat magical? Most definitely yes.

If for any reason, it will be memorable long-term becuase of the controversy of the re-cast / re-boot elements and the success it enjoyed despite the risks taken.

Yes I did like the 1st one and I consider it above average. After watching the 2nd one though it seems very good!

Voted for Star Trek, because I remembered how I felt after leaving the theater the first time. Will never forget that. Moon was a close second. A nice cerebral movie. Also, a lot of reviewers panned Pandorum, but it was a guilty pleasure for me.
