You're Jean-Luc Picard, and you have a decision to make. Leave the Nexus and save millions of lives, or stay with the family you have always wanted, allowing millions to die.

What do you do? Be honest!!

I would like to think I would leave, but man, it would be tempting.

Leave, since it's not real and I don't think Picard really wanted a family. His sense of morality would prevent him from allowing millions to die.

Definitely stay.

Soran was obsessed with finding his way back. Guinan said she would have done ANYTHING to get back. I think average joes would be MUCH too tempted to stay...and anyone out here who thinks that they are not an "average joe" needs to take a quick look in the mirror.

I would stay in there temporaily to explore other possiblities but I'd leave the same like Picard and Kirk did.

My question is why didn't Soran just fly up to the Nexus wearing a thruster suit like the one from TMP?

According to Guinan you can leave the Nexus and go anywhere anytime, so, If I were Picard I would have told Kirk to leave the Nexus to go back to the bridge of the Enterprise B just as he disappeared, and have Scotty beam Soran back into the Nexus. Story over, all problems solved, all lives saved and everyone is happy and Picard would never enter the Nexus in the first place.

If beaming into the Nexus was possible, he would have done it from Lursa and B'Etor's BOP. Just about anything from low-level radiation to magnetic fields will screw up a transporter, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Nexus put out some technobabble that stops beaming.

It was shown that you can physically touch the Nexus wave front and survive (Soran on his scaffold like the King of the World). So a thruster suit/EVA suit is the logical choice to enter the Nexus.

Yeah, never thought of the whole transporter technobabble thing..........however, I bet the Enterprise B would have one of those space suit/ EVA's to toss Soran out in. Heck, if not they could just send him out in a shuttlecraft to save us from the rest of that movie ever being made......I mean to save countless lives.

I didn't read the first post before I voted. I voted what I would want to do. I would stay. I think if I were Jean-Luc I would not stay.
