Wouldn't dream of forgetting Badda-bang Badda-bing. That was a great episode (although I was thinking of what was least likely to get argument from Ezri haters and Vic haters.) I also quite like Field of Fire and Prodigal Daughter -- although others do not.

Once More Unto the Breach might also be counted as a great early season 7 episode.

I quoted you and Manta as a demonstration of how very different people's tastes and opinions are, and that to focus much more on either the war or non-war stuff would almost certainly have left a large part of fandom even more dissatisfied. I still think the balance was quite good, although I doubt I would be complaining if they had leant more towards one or t'other. Both kinds of episodes were brilliant and I still think there was a goodly amount of variety.

The only thing I can think of was: If they did finish at the end of season six, I would have been disappointed because season six while brilliant of course, does not make a satisfactory ending. It would have left too much unresolved regarding the war.

Cliffhangers, while frustrating, are a valid tool for telling a story and keeping people involved. Of course they are going to be a major part of a story arc!

I hated Ezri as a character, and the whole Vic thing was ignorant.

If Ezri was presented in Season 1, I am sure she would have grown by Season 7. ¿They simply had no time.

I don't understand the Vic hate. ¿I understand how his character is hard to grasp in Star Trek--Although TNG focused on some Holo episodes of older times as well--but Vic had at least 3 good moments.

The S6 episode that introduced him that brought Odo out of his shell.
Pale Moon
Badda Bing

Heck, even Vic in WYLB was a very appropriate character finale.

I would actually like to hear what exactly it is people don't like about Vic. ¿Like I said, I can only think of it being that a Sci-Fi fanboy doesn't appreciate a little culture. ¿But of course, that is too biased of a reason and I am willing to change my opinion (of the haters--not of Vic) if someone presents a good argument?

Nothing ruined it for me, although the baseball episode would have fitted better in an earlier season.

The only problem I had with S7, was the Kai Winn and Dukat thing.  That was woefully done.

Really? I thought it was very imaginative.

Like a lot of you, I didn't vote. I agree with OtakuJo that season 7 had its weak points, but it wasn't bad.

Stovokor2000 hit the nail on the head when he said the only drawback to the season was the writers attempt to tie up so many loose ends in such a short period of time. I couldn't have said it better, myself. We should have gotten an 8th season.

As far as the final episode, WYLB, Yanks mentioned the omission of a "Jadzia flashback". I must admit, that pissed me off as well. 6 years on the show and not even a tip of the hat to Terry Farrell or her character? There's got to be more to that story than we know. I wonder if the writers/producers and Terry had a falling out and they omitted her flashback on purpose? Who knows.

As far as Kira's hair? Loved it! Sorry Yanks. I thought season 7 was Nana's most attractive year.

I voted Other because I didn't like the whole "Dukat becoming a Bajoran" thing. It was just too strange for me. Besides that, I really loved all the seasons really. Oh! And that Jadzia was excluded from the end-of-the-series montage, even though I've heard that wasn't really the DS9 team's fault.

As far as Kira's hair goes -- I liked when she had the short hair, but the longer, "softer" style was, I think, a good outward reflection of how her personality had changed (mellowed) by the final season.

According to Memory-Alpha, 'Flashback scenes of Jadzia Dax are conspicuously absent from the end of the episode because the producers were not able to obtain permission from Terry Farrell to use her image. [7]. Originally, however, the script had called for clips of Jadzia to be included in the scene. As Ira Steven Behr explains, "We had planned to see Terry Farrell in the flashbacks but she refused to let us use any of her clips. The way I see it is this: Her manager was informed that we were thinking of using Terry in a scene in the final episode. It would have probably been three hours of work... maybe four. The price they quoted us was too high for the budget. After all, this was a show where we had to cut out hundreds of thousands of dollars from the original draft. Her manager was informed that we weren't going to be able to use Terry. And on top of it, the scene we had been thinking of for her was really not that germane to the plot. I think Terry's feelings were hurt. When it came to the issue of the clips, they again felt that they would prefer that we went a different way without using the character of Jadzia Dax. So we did. I wasn't happy about it. I'm still not happy about it. But it is a reminder that even Star Trek is just part of the great showbiz sludge."'

Apparently Marc Alaimo was also a little less than happy about the idea of Dukat disguised as Bajoran.

Far as I see it, I'm a wee bit more creeped out by the Dukat and Kai Winn shagging ... er... thing.

Kira finally letting her hair down was a nice touch for her character.  The short hair always symbolized her militant nature as a resistance fighter.  That she was finally able to adopt a less convenient look shows that she's past that phase of her life.  I just didn't like the look of it.
