are you serious, look at efficency not just gdp... seriously, that was a complete waste of my time. the EU is a socialist group of many nations, dont bother me crap anymore

No it isn't. The majority of EU countries: the UK, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus, Sweden, Denmark and the countries from behind the former Iron Curtain are all non-socialist. The German-Franco Axis is using the EU to force socialism on the others. Hence the unpopularity of the EU in the non-socialist countries.

/ It's also why the euro is killing poor Ireland. The euro is modelled for socialism and the Celtic Tiger's capitalist economy can't cope. Ireland should really join the pound if it wants to recover.

Cutting taxes and less Government spending is the way to save this economy. Also the Government should get out of the way and let American innovate.

yet the EU is not, it is able to sustain the countries in debt... thank you for proving my point again

The EU itself can't have debt, it collects money from the rich members and redistributes it among the poorer ones to pay for EU projects. There's no way for debt to amass.

On debt - all the EU countries are in massive debt. But PIIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece & Spain) are causing the most damage. Their debts are so bad they're putting the very survival of the euro at risk. Things are so bad the EU is giving aid to Greece despite this act being illegal under EU law. Article 125 reads:

"The Union shall not be liable for or assume the commitments of central governments, regional, local or other public authorities, other bodies governed by public law, or public undertakings of any Member State."

See that's how bad socialism has made things. The EU is breaking its own laws in a desperate bid to ensure the survival of the Eurozone.

Hey, the Democrats had the numbers to pass anything that they wanted. Bush got a lot of legislation out of a Democrat Congress, why can't The Obama?

Remember that The Obama enjoyed the largest majority that his party had seen in decades, initial support from most of the media and good will from most of the voters. With so much going for them, the fact that your Democrat buddies couldn't agree on health care reform is their own fault.

Throw enough gasoline and lit sparklers around and you're bound to start a fire in 10F eventually!

No flaming intended, just tried to start a discussion, that's all. :)

Oh I know!

I was speaking of the nature of politically based topics.

They are hot topics at 10F, like religion, abortion, etc.

If you want a successful thread as far as frequency is concerned, you've got a sure fire winner on your hands most days with any of those.

Can't argue with you there, Chronic!

I have only just now read the article you cited about utilizing a budget reconciliation bill to pass the final health care legislation bill into action. If he is successful at that, it will render your objections moot.

As for whether I think you are a Republican, I really don't see what that question has to do with anything. I recall that at one time you said you were active with the Republican party, but that you have since grown disillusioned with that party for reasons I have never clearly understood. Beyond that, I really don't know.
