When it comes to Harry Potter the movies are no match for the books.

i can never tell what house (when she was a student herself) she was supposed to be in. unless they made one especially for her and lockheart-pigheaded selfrightous git house-

I'm pretty sure her house was never mentioned but I'd be willing to guess it was Slytherin.

I really liked it. Although it certainly wasn't what I expected.

District 9 was REALLY disappointing!

I just happened to watch that a couple of weeks ago, and I gotta say I was more distrubed by the gore.

As for the story, it was alright, a lot of it didn't make sense like the gangsters trading cat food for alien weapons, WTF?!?! lol

I ended up not liking it as much as I thought and in the end it left me feeling let down.

I had VERY high hopes for it, but did not enjoy it at all.

Haven't seen many of those - probably only Trek and Harry Potter.

Wasn't overly impressed with Harry Potter. Took my two children to see 'Ponyo' at the weekend and enjoyed that more than HP.

I went to see that yesterday. Absolutley loved it.

Have to admit, I did too - was a well written, properly done, anime story. Any story that is technically aimed at children, but is watchable/enjoyable for parents too, is a good one in my view.

A real crime that it'll lose out to the inferior 'Princess and the Frog'.

I've seen all the Studio Ghibli films on DVD. There wasn't a chance in hell I was going to miss out on this one! All but one are available in the US (Disney refused to release Only Yesterday), and all are consistently great films.

Except Tales From Earthsea. That one was a bit of a mess.

Umbridge is evil. Remember that special Quill she gave Harry in his detention in her office? The women is one of the most evil characters in the entire series.

I don't know for sure if DRAGON_ROSE has read Book Six, so I won't name names, but I was really annoyed that we didn't get to see the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher in action in the last movie. David Yates and company were barmy in what they left out in Film Six. A rubbish finale too.

I will unfortunately have to say Star Trek. :( It had extraordinary potential, but to me it
did not feel like Star Trek, although they had great actors, special effects, etc. Even though
it was in an alternate timeline, I felt uncomfortable that they destroyed Vulcan. :logical:
I think it was also too violent for Star Trek, but that's just my opinion.
