As far as the TNG films go, I'd say from best to worst

1. ¿Borg Queen
2. ¿Soran
3. ¿Ru'afo
4. ¿Shinzon

It's a tough call between Ru'afo and Shinzon. ¿I thought Ru'afo, the whiny plastic surgery addict, sucked too.

^^Yeah that. I'd say Ru'afo and Shinzon are tied for last.

Why does everyone hate Shinzon and say he's the worst star trek movie villian

Shinzon is the best TNG movie villian BY FAR

He was a much better character than Soran, the Borg Queen and Ad'Har Ru'afo

Why does everyone think the borg queen is the best TNG movie villian? She wasn't that much of a meaningful character to the story, in fact if you completely removed the borg queen from First contact, the movie would be pretty much the same

Shinzon is the second best movie villian- Khan been number one obviously

Agreed. Nemesis rules.

It certainly didn't help when Rick Berman put Shinzon up there on a pedestal with Khan before Nemesis premiered.

The idea of a Picard clone with much darker life experiences isn't a bad idea. It's just that the character was poorly written and his motivations are senseless. I also don't think that Tom Hardy was a great choice for the role. He's done some decent work for the BBC but I don't think that he was good enough to be an adversary for Patrick Stewart. It's like casting Genevieve Bujold for the role of Janeway. It just didn't quite fit.

I like Nemesis and I think Shinzon was just fine.

I don't see what the big deal is, either. ¿

Nemesis is tied with FC for favorite TNG movie on my list.

That's where I'm at.

I thought shinzon was a great character, and yeah you did have to suspend disbelief to see him as a clone of Picard but that sort of thing happens in films, I thought Tom Hardy did a brilliant job and I think he is a terrific actor. IMO shinzon is one of the best TNG era bad guys in general!

have greatly enjoyed
repeat viewings of
nemesis
because of shinzon
in particular
as well as movie
in general.

i understand it did not
strike same chord for
many others.
i easily respect that.
no problem for me tho.

shinzon greatly
appealed to me as a
villian.

Seriously     Have you watched Hardy's screen test?  He was bloody brilliant.  Watching him, an unknown actor, auditioning for the part with Patrick Stewart sitting across the table, must have been nerve breaking, but he held his own and was flawless despite all the pressure that must have been on him.

That pictorial summary of NEM was great, and summed up my feelings pretty well. Shinzon was a good idea, but poorly executed.

PICARD: Shinzon will kill everyone on Earth with his funky Medusa superweapon that turns people to stone.
CREW: Why? Shouldn't he hate the Romulans for torturing him, rather than hating humans for sharing his DNA?
PICARD: It's sh###y writing. Just nod and carry on.
CREW: Aye, sir.

Shinzon is perhaps the single worst villain ever written for the screen.
His very purpose was pointless and his goals were contrived. Or should that be the other way around?
Doesn't matter, the results are the same, Shinzon and his Medusa weapon sucked.
B4 would have made a better movie villain, in many ways I think he was...LOL.

At least Soran had some purported purpose with a goal of getting back into that fantasy Nexus Ribbon thingy to live out a pretend life. What scientific genius hatched that rotten egg of an idea? And of course he would stop at nothing to get back in there...including blowing up stars to divert that ribbon to passing close to a planet to scoop him up...because flying a ship into that thing would never work. Interesting that Soran could create a weapon to destroy stars , but couldn't create strong enough shielding to penetrate the ribbon.
Oh yeah, plot device.

The Borg Queen had an ill conceived plan to travel back in time and conquer Earth once and for all.
Naturally using one ship because the Borg are suppose to be this super invincible race...who always fail when they do this. Huh?
And what's with always sending in one ship? You think the Borg would have "learned" and  adapted to clearer thinking and actually send in everything they had to wipe out the Federation. It's not like much else was going on in their corner of the galaxy...so much for the collective brain power of billions of Borgs.
But at least the Borg Queen had good intentions on her part and an honest reason behind what she was doing...to pointlessly assimilate another alien race into the Collective. Why? Because that's what they do...no other reason really.

Ad'Har Ru'afo  had..well, bad skin, that makes him evil.
