that dog doesn't look female...

The pictures I posted are from the web and not of my dogs.

But the Basset looks just like mine, so I dont know what tips you off that the pictured dog is a male.  :O

tx for the explanation dandandat! I was, like, the last kid in the family to catch on how to tell animals' genders apart and I've never lived it down. just when I thought I had it figured out, you go and post that pic... :D

We had a cross between a Golden Retriever and a black lab.

We had to put her to sleep about 3 years ago, couldn't have another one, way to painful when they go.

Not one of those fashionable toy lap dogs, or those terriers, or over engineered dogs that have inherent problems , or those mungrel pitbulls....

A nice BlueHeeler, Alsasion, Labradore .... now they are real dogs.
