This year Xmas Day is Saturday 25th December, then the Boxing Day Holiday is Monday 27th December. Go Figure!

Scrub one public holiday .... unless you work on Saturdays.

Then New Year's Day 2011, is on a Saturday, and is not followed by a Public Holiday on the Monday or Friday. So you don't get a public holiday on NYD unless you work Saturdays.

And if you thought that was bad, Easter Monday 2011 falls on April 25th and coincides with Anzac Day.
2 public holidays in ONE day !!

I'm retired so public holidays are just an inconvenience to me , but lots of folks aren't retired and will be ripped off public holiday wize and for them public holidays are important , and even more important if they are rostered on to work in these days (the penalty rates are very nice).

That sucks. We always get substitute days whenever Christmas, Boxing Day or New Years Day fall on the weekend.

I can see the pessants revolting and there will be blood on the wattle ( distinctive Australian flowering tree that blooms copiously from about July to April (different colours (white or yellow) and depending on the location)).
