It's almost March and Creation has yet to start selling Captain's Chair packages.
Strange.

I wonder if anyone is going?  I can't afford it.

I would go but not a single actor from the new movie is going and I have seen most of the regular guests. I think the new movie cast is kind of rude to pretty much ban Creation. It shows how big their egos are and how little the Trek fans mean to them.

Guess it is the NJ con this summer, cheaper and closer but not as fun as Vegas.

EH, don't judge the new cast too harshly. They are working actors with 3-5 projects each, one of which is the next Trek movie. Their schedules are not as flexible as the regular convention guests.

I guess they could agree to appear at the LV convention, then cancel at the last minute because they have to finish a scene or fly to a new job and knowingly disappoint thousands of fans. It has happened several times with other actors who have agreed to appear and then canceled because of work obligations.

I just find it odd that not one actor is from the new movie, not even one from the many characters, aliens, make-up artists... Makes you think Creation is black-listed. Rumor has it that Chris Pines' real father got upset with Creation and Chris put the word out to axe Creation. As I said rumor. But something is up.

There is 5 months to go till the convention. Plenty of time for guests from the new movie to be added to the list.
Only 24 of 70 guests have been announced.
Still, the less I see  of the people from the new movie at these conventions the happier I will be.
Just my opinion though.

Gold seats are selling very, very slowly because of the economy and the same Ol' same Ol' guests and some who are head scratcher guests. Time will tell. I'm not going to fly to Vegas again for the same thing. New movie actors is what will bring me back. Oh and I think the Hilton is very dated, Mandalay Bay now that would be nice.

Creation has added 4 more names to the guest list, so make it 28 out of 70 guests announced so far.
None of those 4 are from the new movie.
Sorry, EH.
And what do you mean by  head scratcher guests?

* Lesser-known actors or much cheaper actors. Usually the actors I would pass seeing for a show while in Vegas. Or sleep a few hours in instead of seeing. Though I have stayed to see a few and the room was almost empty.

Creation conventions need to get new movie guests to sell tickets. Most of us have seen the regulars too many times. In this economy I really don't see the 2010 Star Trek Las Vegas convention tickets sales doing well. Time will tell.

You may be right.
They added 2 more guests today, neither of them from the new movie.
Creation might not be selling many tickets partially ebcause of the economy.
I think they've already announced all of the big names coming in hopes to sell a few more tickets.
Names like Shatner, Nimoy and Jeri Ryan.

Edit: I will have to agree that Naomi Pollack on this guest list IS a head scratcher. Except for Star Trek she doesn't have other acting credits to her resume and even on Star trek her part was very small. No offense to her.

Ethan Phillips was just added.
That brings the guest list up to 31.

The line-up is shaping up. Just really would love to see some actors from the new movie.
