I went to a bunch in the 90's when they were all over the place.

Met:
George Takei
Walter Koenig
Nichelle Nichols
William Shatner & Leonard Nimoy (in one appearance together)
Brent Spiner
Majel Barrett-Roddenberry
Robert Duncan McNeil

Haven't been to one in over a decade. I would have loved to get to one of the Vegas conventions. I'm glad I at least got to The Experience twice before they took it down.

I've been to 7 of the 10 Las Vegas Conventions. I really enjoy them. I'm going to the 2011 Convention at the Hyatt Regency at the San Francisco airport AND the 45th Anniversary convention in Las Vegas.

I'd love to! I'm a hardcore fan, I pride myself on owning/watching every star trek dvd of the sereis/movies. I have never been to a convention. Why? I live on the other side of the world. I hope to go to a convention one day but for now, the closest I'm gonna get here in NZ, is the 'Armageddon Expo'. They'll have Nana Visitor (Kira) there, I'm gonna get her autograph/photo with her (my first one!) but thats nothing compared to getting an autograph of Leonard Nimoy.

Two weeks, mate!!!

I went to my first one this summer - Vegas 2010.  I don't know what I had expected to find, but what a riot.  It was a mix of questions to the actors about the series, questions about themselves and future work....but what was seriously fun was watching the actors together.  Shatner and Nimoy were fantastic.  Nimoy recounted a story about how Shatner kept stealing his bike and hiding it during one season - too funny.  And then Patrick Stewart was on stage, teasing and bugging the two.  Jonathon Frakes was hillarious and then suddenly Jeri Ryan came out and hung out with him.  Brett Spiner and Stewart played off of each other so well, that an hour just flew by.  And there's all these little trek jokes that everyone would giggle at.  And I was just blown away at the young Trek fans.  There was a little boy from Montana that got up and asked Shatner which scream he liked better - "SPOCK" or "KHAN", Shatner asked him if he knew these screams and whether he could demonstrate these to the audience.  So this little guy does 2 perfect Kirk screams and the audience just roared.  Too funny.  I only went for 2 days this summer, and didn't sign up for any of the extra 'stuff' but I will next summer.  And getting the autographs was really fun.  I mean, I don't do stuff like this, but the actors were really nice - heck Connor Trinneer chatted with me for about 5 minutes about 'stuff'.  If you can go Matthias Russell, do it.

I have never been to one and sadly probably never will. Unless I hit the jackpot and fly to the States. You guys should feel lucky to have that opportunity and the choice.
And I would really like to go to one. Just to feel the atmosphere of Star Trek fans all in one place. We have fans here too but not in that quantity.

Been to a bunch (never dressed up, though) -- Pittsburgh used to be a regular stop on the Creation circuit...Saw George Takei several times, Majel Roddenberry, Ethan Philips, John DeLancie, Marina Sirtis...Once in a while, somebody from Trek shows up at Shore Leave in Baltimore -- Malcolm MacDowell and George T. were there two years ago...

Went to the big Trek con in Vegas last year and finally met Bill and Leonard -- what an experience -- Bill was having a bad day, but Leonard more than made up for it...Dream come true -- walked on air for weeks afterwards!...

The best was when Gene Roddenberry came to speak at my college back in 1974 -- saw the blooper reel for the first time -- and I snuck into the reception afterwards and actually got to speak with the man himself for a few minutes -- about TAS becoming a reality and his hopes for getting ST onto the big screen...Absolutely thrilling experience...

I met George Takei at a small convention back in the 1980s. It was at a hotel in Liverpool. He was accompanied by some minor actor (from ST:TNG) who I can't remember, and also strangely enough fantasy novelist Tery Pratchett. There were a few folks dressed up as Klingons etc. - but most visitors were casually interested rather than screaming fanatics. I'm somewhere in the neutral zone in between ...

Boston, 1976 only the Third one EVER!!! the first two having been in NYC. This back in the day when they lasted several days and people came from around the world. 76 was Americas BIG bicentenial celebration and this was HUGE in BOSTON. Also it was held the weekend before the Boston marathon that year.George Takei is a runner but could not actually be there for the marathon the following week, so he planned on running the route that sunday, being the day after his final appearance to the convention. Well, he mentioned this during a Q&A session and invited anyone that wished to join him. As you can imagine, that was a mistake. Over 100 people met him in front of the hotel the next morning!

I saw him that year too, when he came to Providence,RI. I remember him speaking about how he had a vision of a great future for mankind and how he tried to convey that through Star Trek. Saw the Blooper real, and a screening of the original, uncut pilot. At that time the only copy they had of it was a B&W master!
