They need to make a new movie with the next generation cast. Nemesis was not a way for it to end.

While I agree completely I do not believe it would happen.Mainly because the new movie has made the original crew popular again. So like it or not I think this is going to follow where the money is...and its with the new J.J.Abrams vision of Star Trek.ever since this new movie came out I like how all the previous TNG movies are suddenly made fun of and considered inferior.I disagree with this completely but it seems to be the case.I loved the new movie but I just dont like how people forgot how good TNG was with a much smaller budget. So once again i would love to see Picard and crew back on the big screen but I doubt it ever happen.

I believe there was one planned but the poorly-received "Nemesis" caused it to be cancelled.

JJ's new film is hardly the reason why the bulk of the TNG films is look down upon by many.

Aside from "First contact" they just weren't very good.

There was never another one planned.  Now, if "Nemesis" had been a big blockbuster hit then certainly there would have been pressure from the studio to do another one.  But there was very little reason to believe "Nemesis" would be such a big money-maker considering that "Insurrection" made less money than "First Contact" and media interest in the franchise was waning.  "Nemesis" was marketed as a "generation's final journey begins."  Smart move.

When the run of nu-TOS movies are done, I have no doubt if Paramount smells profit they will reboot TNG...

:logical:

Over my dead body they will.  I'll do everything in my power to make sure a TNG reboot fails horribly.   :logical:

If I remember correctly there was talk of another final movie, but NEMESIS killed the idea stone dead.

"Ndirsch11" pretty much right on this one.

The extent of talks about an other film was basicly "If Nemesis does well then we'll see".

But thats hardly a plan.

I dunno, sounds like a plan to me.  ;)

I remember Patrick Stewart always playing down speculation that Nemesis was the final movie. Didn't they have contracts that "allowed" for one more movie to be made?

Brent wanted to call it a day, as he thought he was getting too old to play an ageless android, so he'll never be back as Data.

I dont even know how that can sound like a "plan" to anyone.

If any film is popular their going to want to do an other.....but thats not the same thing as actively planning to do an other.

And I do believe Patrick was hopeing to do an other.

Its also my understanding that most of their contracts were open to the possibility.

Althou not all the crew wanted to return.

Wont happen. The cast is getting too old. Spiner even said how can he play an old Data? Also Stewart said he was done with Trek. The new movie cast is what they are doing now. They even announced the sequel date for June 29th 2012.
