I totally agree-especially about the 'developed' part!

Julian definitely. I'm just rewatching TNG and the Crusher experience that makes me very very sure that Bashir is my choice!

Looks like Bashir is winning by a country mile! He really is the better doctor, IMO.

Julian Bashir for the win! In addition to what all of the pro-Bashir people have said so far on this thread, I just want to add a few things of my own:
***SPOILER ALERT FOR STAR TREK NOVEL, THE RETURN***
If you have not read "The Return" written by William Shatner, but intend to do so in the future, do not proceed. You have been warned.
Seriously though, in the "Star Trek" novel written by William Shatner called "The Return", who resurrects Kirk from the dead? Bashir, does. Who tells Dr. Bashir what he is trying to do is a hopeless case? Data. Does Julian let that bother him? No. Does Julian kick butt in this novel? Hell, yes. Does he garner the respect of everyone present for the procedure (Spock, Picard, Riker, Data, etc..) Oh, yeah!
Here is an excerpt. McCoy and Bashir are working together to bring Kirk back to life:
As McCoy began explaining the techniques they would use, Data stepped back from the surgical table, knowing that his assistance was no longer required. He was content to watch the effortless blending of raw talent and seasoned experience that unfolded before him.
Riker and Deanna Troi arrived a few minutes after the doctors began working together. La Forge and Worf followed shortly after. Together they watched as the hands of Starfleet's youngest generation, guided by the wisdom of Starfieet's oldest, worked a new miracle that neither could have performed without the other.
Pretty cool, huh? Crusher was not asked to perform the surgery, even though she was present. Nope, it was Julian who did the procedure. Besides, Julian has all of those enhancements, he stands up to people like Dukat, Kai Winn, Klingons, etc... and seems fearless.
Who does Section 31 want to recruit for what he knows, what he can do, and what he stands for? Let me think ... Julian Bashir!
Wo was the youngest nominee ever for the Carrington Award, Starfleet's most prestigious award in medicine? Young Dr. Julian Bashir!
I guess I should climb down off my soapbox now. I don't want to get off to a bad start with it being my first day on the boards. By the way, I think these boards are great and the people here seem so cool. I'm happy to be a member of this online community!

Ill go with Crusher coz Bashir is totally exaggerated character and then they came up with that lame genetic ingeenering story to make him some kind a superdoctor.
I specially "loved" the episode when he replaces half of Bareil brain with positronic matrix. F..k the Borg dr. Julian Bashir creates cyborgs on daily basis Maybe he should create another Data for starfleet
And now i see that he can even bring people back to life. Its a miracle tnat there where some people who actually died on DS9.Bashir was probably on shore leave that day.
O yea and that Section 31 storyline La femme Bashir

Yes, he is a super doctor, I agree. I think the idea that he started out with the learning disabilities and his parents had him enhanced illegally because they cared so much for him ... that's such a tough issue. DS9 wasn't afraid to step beyond the antiseptic barriers of the previous Treks and show real characters with flaws that made mistakes from time to time.
I like how Julian was deliberately a little annoying in the beginning and then how great it was to watch him grow as a doctor, friend, and officer. His character was actually developed and he grew. Very cool.

Well, what I think was great about that episode was how Kai Winn was making decisions to keep Bariel alive long enough for the talks to conclude, Kira wanted to keep him alive because she loved him, and then there was Julian trying NOT to make him like Data. He knew when enough was enough and he shouldered the difficult task of helping Major Kira realize that.
And now i see that he can even bring people back to life. Its a miracle tnat there where some people who actually died on DS9.Bashir was probably on shore leave that day.
Yeah, probably. Those stasis chambers were always empty, it seemed. Seriously, though ... people died all the time on the station. Then Odo could play "Odo: C.S.I." and he would get to play "Dr. Bashir: Medical Examiner". *wink* *wink*
O yea and that Section 31 storyline La femme Bashir
Interesting, but I'm not sure I follow. But that does remind me of the episode, "Our Man, Bashir" which was so much fun to watch. How many names did Kira have as the Russian spy? That cracked me up. That one and "Trials and Tribble-ations can always cheer me up when I need a good, intelligent laugh.

I cant remember Crusher doing anything extraordinary or even anything above average. Bashir is the easy winner but he is genetically enhanced. If he wasnt better that would be sad

I just think Bashier is one of the most annoying characters in Star Trek just behind Wesley Crusher :P
dr Crusher is sadly totally undeveloped character. TNG had this old trek thing, pushing mostly Picard/Data, just like TOS had Kirk/Spock :/
